 Alert Admin 		That is debatable. SCM was previously 61% owned by SCI. Their cashflow would not be any different from now if they are still under SCI and tap on the remaining S$500 mil outstanding credit facility secured through SCI then.

Just have to play hard ball with Transocean and not agree to the S$600 mil yard financing and this current rights issue can be avoided altogether or delayed until next year when their new mega projects are secured. Look at how indebted Olam is and they still manage to do ok with the Temasek owned tag. The difference is that Olam directors own a sizable 4.8% of the company and think like a shareholder. Even if they need some money recently for an acquisition, they did mini size, just enough, rights issue at 10+% below last traded price because the directors have to cough out quite a fair bit with 4.8% ownership. SCM directors, in contrast, own only 0.2% of company and don' t think like or for shareholders.

Kan Jeong spider CEO should be demoted to COO and let sleek salesman like Loh Chin Hua take over. Loss also can spin into a BTIDA positive..

If the merger with Keppel is realised, Sembm will have a good chance of repaying shareholders' faith. For all that fuss about electric vehicles, oil remains the fuel that keeps the world moving - we are not boarding electric planes anytime soon. Now, it' s a big ask of shareholders to fork out more money but these are extraordinary times. Just gotta take the hit and keep it afloat untill they sort out how a Semb-Kep mega co. will look like.

 Alert Admin 		good question.  It depends very much on SMM' s price over the next few trading sessions.  It closed 8.4c.  any drop from here is detrimental to SMM

 Alert Admin 		This arbitraging of selling the shares and buying the Rights and exercise at 8 cents to lock in the gains is narrowing and will only last till next Wednesday. Subsequently, the share will go back up to induce subscription. Don't worry too much.

 Alert Admin 		Ok.  From SGX email. It is mis-interpretation.  The meaning should be: lol.

The remarks portion is with reference to the disbursement ratio (as per the original announcement on SGX website) &ndash 1 allotted SEMBCORP MARINE LTD R (rights) will eventually become 1 SEMBCORP MARINE LTD share at the completion of the rights issue.
