UOBKH the trustworthy roti prata man : United Engineers (UE) is gearing up for sale and the sale is an eventuality rather than a possibility said UOBKayHian. The research house cited four main reasons to support its view. First, UOBKayHian said that major shareholders OCBC and Great Eastern have already announced that they are &ldquo strategically reviewing their stake. " A sale of 30% or more will trigger a mandatory offer," it noted. Secondly, the vacant CEO position is evidence of a non-operational status, it said. Third, UOBKayHian said that the series of non-core assets sales simplifies UE&rsquo s business, transforming it into a &ldquo pure&rdquo property play (including hard-to-value technology manufacturer, Mflex that was previously loss-making). Lastly, there are willing seller and numerous potential suitors for UE. |

Hahaha, maybe talking down for wily old botak to buy? But thing is, I doubt if botak is interested in the China properties (maybe his son has a different perspective, I don' t know). Don' t take me too seriously though. Just an thought that came to mind.

how can UOB know OCBC internal affairs ? I hope NO insider hor. if suddeny there is an Offer for UE, many flushed out by uobkh report will curse UOB and UOBKH like hell. OCBC have stakes in Ningbo Bank. I dont believe they cannot find cash rich assets hungry Chinese buyers. |

WHAT ? uobkh ? they are the ones who initiate the buy cal with " UE to be sold is an eventuality" and now they are the very one to downgarde it ? i saw a lot of UOB tv comemrcials about TRUST recently.... LOL
