How do you think back in those days Alipay can link up to BOC, ICBC for direct debit transaction on taobao? It' s obvious for them to know Alipay is a competitor fighitng the same sector. Only CCP can send directive for banks to work with Ant Financial. Then you fast forward now, Jack Ma sign away part of his VIE to unnamed shareholders amid a sudden announcement to retire a year back. Maybe CCP wants control, who knows? End of the day, large Chinese companies will always have connections to CCP whether they want it or not. Communism is communism. CCP won' t change it' s leapard spot. But in the interest of shareholders, as long as the company makes money and return dividends to them  there is value. YZJ is ranked 1st in China, 5th in the world. This flexes China' s might to the world, a lot of ' face' value. It is not in CCP' s interest to bring down these large companies.
