Here's my take. After hitting a high of 1.20s, it fell like a rock. Like so many I caught a falling knife and bought 200k at 1.15 on the way down. Bought another 200k at 1.11 and the knife was still falling. It landed at 1.08, waited and bought another 200k at 1.10. Average price for 600k is 1.12. Morale of the story is waiting is free but it can also be costly. | ||||

The behaviour of the market or the counter can be irrational at times. For those who tried to push their luck, some may get away leaving the rest bitting the dust. Considering where it fell from, I think many would agree that the price is depressed (also the fact that there are many suffering shareholders) but downside is also probably limited with the stock trading at 0.5x PB. The question is there just aren' t enough catalysts for the stock to warrant a positive re-rating by the market. Interestingly, if we try to work out sum of parts valuation of businesses within SPH' s portfolio, there are quite a few gems. 15% stake in iFast is worth ~$200m, not to mention its 65% stake of SPH REIT. It also owns some Prime US REIT, MindChamps, etc.
