Olam is not obliged to return any capitals after Olam Agri is sold to Salic. To make matters worse we would only get a return of 10-20 cents cash per share and lose the entire Olam Agri. Olam could have a huge discount (i.e 60- 70%) to their NTA just like what we find in many property counters. The senior management is setting up a value trap game for investors. | ||||

Generally, the market already factors in Olam Agri stakes sales to Salic. Not hopeful for The Management to return sizable CASH portion to their shareholders. If shareholders are getting very minimal return from the Olam Agri stakes sales and most cash will be retained by The Company to pay their top executives. Therefore, Olam&rsquo s share price can only be traded at this level S$1.12 to S$1.20. DON&rsquo T EXPECT BIG ANGBAO FROM THE COMPANY. | ||||

please do your own DD If the deal go thru' as reported at USD 4B, Olam will get SGD 3.5B for its 64.6% stake. This is for the Equity Stake (unlike Wee Hur confusing statements and numbers). That will be equivalent to 92 sgd cent per Olam Share. (Hopefully it is fully in cash like the 1st partial stake sale) Implying market now valuing Olam 2nd key segment Ofi at around 20 sgd cent per Olam share. Worthwhile to note that Olam Ofi EBIT is comparable to that of Olam Agri. Just sharing. There will be better clarity once the deal go thru' , and the pro-forma financial details (including de-consolidation of financial statements) are released. please perform your own DD

Based on the 2022 transaction details, the transaction figure is for the Equity Stake (see olam PR, where it mentioned USD $3.5B is Equity Valuation). Olam sold 35.4% then for USD 1.24B Recent report: 100% stake = USD 4B Olam remaining stake is 64.6% = USD 2.584B = SGD 3.5B Hopefully with this sale, overall leverage is lowered further, culminating to a de-leveraging re-rating Please perform your own DD

Did a detailed read up on the USD 3.5B dollar number quoted for the 2022 partial stake disposal. This USD 3.5B dollar number is for the Full Equity Stake for the subject biz unit (i.e. already less off all Debts / Liabilities at the biz unit level). Now Saudi chaps wanna buy all the remaining stake, number quoted this time round is USD 4B. [At least Olam quite clear in their 2022 Press Release, unlike Wee Hur confusing, misleading Press Release]. Just sharing only. (Out now, will dissect the numbers further.) | ||||

Market already digested the news yesterday. Even Olam Agri sales complete within Q1 2025. It is up to The Management to consider returning capital to their shareholders. They can keep all the cash just like the 1st stake sold to Salic OR choice to give peanuts to their shareholders. Group CEO continue getting big fat remuneration (> S$8m). | ||||
