In the current cheap money (paris) climate, it is much easier to get funding for R& D in green sustainable energy (hydrogen fuel cell) than fossil(LNG). But I have a feeling all these money thrown into R& D of hydrogen fuel cells to make them safer, more efficient (i.e. less leakage during gas transfers) and rugged will ultimately benefit the LNG and LPG industry.

I think hydrogen fuel cell even harder to implement infrastructure wise. If compressed gas fuel tanks was competitive, then lpg and lng would have taken off for cars in a big scale already. Nowadays, lpg and lng for vehicles are mostly buses (likely with government subsidy to reduce pollution), and more recently for shipping esp lng carriers as they could use the gas they carry to burn as fuel. And wasn' t there an issue with exploding compressed gas tanks in Singapore earlier in the year? with taxis I think? Last time there was a fleet of these lng taxis, then suddenly all disappeared already. Maybe maintanence was a nightmare.

Didn' t they just sign the Cambodia deal? Going to be more CAPEX going forward. In other words, probably no dividends and a lot of cash outflow.

Oil price is going to remain low at + - US$ 50 for a long time. Both Cathay and SIA made wrong bets in their oil hedging and made huge losses .
Even with the OPEC reducing output, oil price didnt shoot up. You know why ? Because everytime oil price touches US$55 to 60 US will ramp up their Shale Oil production. I suggest buy Keppel instead of Kris. SSH is selling at below 12 cts means the short term propects ( next 2 qtrs ) of Kris will not be very rosy. Next Qtr results for Kris very crucial. If bad, may go below 10 cts. If Ok, will be 11 to 13 cts. If good will be 13 to 15 cts. |

I guess the problem is the whole world can' t electrify at the same time given the limited resources at hand. Some developing countries don' t even have street lamps, and you want them to come out with money to build EV infrastructure? Only the rich (and crude oil starved) ones will pay the premium to push for electrification. China (1st and 2nd tier cities) and Japan comes to mind - then again, Japan doesnt really have a pollution problem with their combustion engines do they? USA(Shale), OPEC nations? Good luck with that, esp since now EVs are still heavily subsidised and combustions heavily taxed. Maybe in some rich US cities you will hear of the ban (political reasons) but nation-wide would be unlikely until EVs get cheaper and better. I suspect pulling out of that paris climate had always been on their books, even before Trump got elected. They just needed a fall-guy (Trump?) to get it done with minimal political capital expenditure by either Republicans or Democrats in Congress. I guess as far as Krisenergy is concern, the question is, how fast will world-wide electrification take place. Even then, there are still long haul trucks, buses and construction vehicles that would require huge batteries because of their power consumption moving heavy loads over long, undulating distances. Batteries will have to shrink in size and price by leaps and bounds before full electrification could take place. I think hybrids will be here to stay for some time.

Haha, for that to effectively take place would be many many years down the road, I would be old by then. Oil producing countries will continue to pump oil as long as it is profitable, that their revenue! ![]()

Dont be too optimistic on this .
The future will be EV and Solar Energy and more renewable energy like Wind Farm Energy. UK just announced by so and so "All vehicles in UK will be EV" . China most likely will start with Beijing 1st as they want Beijing to be less polluted as the top leaders are residing in Beijing. |

This one must have the same view like Temasek, holding for the LONG TERM! Short term may see 15c if crude can penetrate and stay above 55.

Don' t be too upset and easily perturbed. The company fundamental has not changed. Look at the production over 5 years. In fact the company has made a tremendous improvement over year on year growth. The problem is because of low oil price. The price was plunging from USD $100+ to now merely USD $50+, must have patience and bear with it. Temasek and Keppel will not simply give up the investment just like that without answer. This is in Singapore and not an investment in other country.
