Yaer 2004 ,Let' s say you bought $10,000 worth of its shares then. That gave you 33,333 shares (rounded for simplicity).

You held on tightly to them and today -- 14 years later -- the original bunch has become 125,000 shares through 3 bonus issues and one stock split.

Through the years, the earnings of Best World trended up, interrupted mainly by the global financial crisis of 2007-2008.

Now, those 125,000 shares are worth $230,000 (at $1.84 a share).

Adding to the capital gain are dividends, derived from Best World' s high cashflow business.

The original bunch of 33,333 shares (which then multiplied through three bonus issues and a stock split) has attracted $14,352  in dividends.

Put another way, the original $10,000 invested in the shares have been more than repaid through dividends alone. 

Thus, in total, the $10,000 invested has become $244,352  (ie $14,352 + $230,000). 

Reaching S$1 billion for the first time is a cause for Best World to celebrate wildly -- and the big trend is pointing up.

Best World to hire independent party to review business and accounting practices

BEST World International is hiring an independent reviewer to scrutinise its business and accounting practices, after  The Business Times  raised concerns last week over the challenges in tracking sales of its DR' s Secret line of premium skincare products in China.

In a statement on Saturday, the company told shareholders that it has conducted its business ethically and in compliance with applicable laws, but &ldquo is not responsible for the accounting and sales records of the franchisees, who are independent third parties&rdquo .

Until last week, shares of Best World had been on a multi-year rally, driven by strong growth in China. The group derives 66 per cent of total revenue from sales of the DR&rsquo s Secret line of premium skincare products in China under its franchise model.

Revenue is booked when the franchisees in China purchase inventory from Best World. At least one analyst has pointed to challenges reconciling between upfront sales figures and underlying consumer demand in China.

 Alert Admin 		i think this saga actually help us to pressure BW to give a detail on their business model and info.. otherwise normal small retailer will not be able to have the influence to squeeze out such info from BW.. i had emailed to tonnes of IR to many companies before to get info, but normally they will refuse to answer citing confidentiality, and some questions actually end up being the same questions that are eventually queried by sgx, which they eventually pressured to answer.. so we actually need some organisation that has the big influence to dig out any can of worms if there are any..

i see the BT report as being objective and neutral, and it does bring out the concern on the sales figures since everyone doesnt know too much in detail on how the franchise is run.. prior to BW rebutt, i dont think anyone will be able to answer BT query & concerns.. so i actually dont mind BT trying to help us dig out more info & pressure companies to be more transparent, not only on BW but every other company..

 Alert Admin 		Haha BT surrender liao. What a poor news reporting comp. Nobody should read or even subcribe to fake news. They cannot defend their own report which was quite surprise to me. Anyway, damage has made to BW. Tomorrow will be a bright day. The CEO should reserve the right to take legal action on BT.

They realise the fruits only can make $2 margin no matter how good it is.. so they market the idea of selling their shares to people at 40 cents.. then the public see Liao Wah 100% profit so fast all go buy... but if the fruits still$2 margin they won?t buy the share at above 40 cents mah.. then they say to themself I buy my own fruit at $4 margin.. 100% increase also.. people see 100% increase means got growth ... how bout I buy the plantation shares at $1.20 because the margin for the fruits sure go up... the cycle goes on till one day someone tells them ehh pls lah the fruits is they ownself buy one... a lot also throw away ... then starts the collapse... Uncle auntie know they got found out so faster sell their plantation share at whatever price... they also not willing to buy the fruits Liao ... then how.. means the plantation no more making profit so justifiable that the plantation share also price go down... in the end the plantation no more but still a lot of people having the share crying like mad... LIfE still goes on..
