From technical perspective, MLT is in a crucial period in the next one week to choose bull or bear trend. SMA120 is about to cross down SMA60, all other short term SMAs facing to the southeast, MLT may be in similar bear trend with Ascendas REIT from technical view. Good news is SMA60 and SMA120 deduction prices are declining in the next one week, and SMA20 deduction price is also going down this week. Hopefully material rebound could be seen in the next few days. |

Mapletree Logistics Trust preferential offering oversubscribed, raises S$144.1m
MAPLETREE Logistics Trust' s preferential offering was oversubscribed, raising gross proceeds of S$144.1 million, the trust' s manager said in a Singapore Exchange filing Thursday night.
The offering was part of an equity fund-raising exercise, alongside a private placement that raised about S$500 million. This brings total gross proceeds for the fund raising to S$644.1 million.
In the preferential offering, there were valid acceptances and excess applications for 129 million new units, 1.78 times the total units available.
The Trust' s sponsor Mapletree Investments and its units have accepted, in full, their respective provisional allotments, totalling about 22.2 million new units. In addition, Mapletree Investments' unit Mulberry had been procured to apply for 25 million excess new units. As the offering was oversubscribed, Mulberry will not be allotted excess units.
About 72.4 million new units will be issued at S$1.99 per unit.

Tq bro,.. highly appreciated your comments here, and yeah,... would quite agree with these comments too since, comparing between FCT and MLT with respect to their industries too, MLT would have a higher potential moving forward. Investors would want to secure these units at these levels, given that earlier, MLT has moved up beyond the $2.00 level. For myself,... I place strong emphasis onto my average holding price (AHP). To achieve the maximum yield and safety-margin, I need my AHP to be as low as possible. Unfortunately, for this exercise, the price of the PO is quite far above my AHP. Hence, my apprehension toward the unit price.

For private tranche, since their order volume will be large, thus they will likely go ahead even if the price is a few cents higher than market. For them to secure such a volume from the market may not be so easy too. Will also drive the market price up. For vested shareholders, they may not take the preferential share offer if they are smaller retail investors. Just like Sembcorp when prices were not attractive.

Hmm,... judging by what happened to Frasers Centrepoint Trust' s unit price at this moment ($2.30) as I write this, and with its Preferential Offering unit being priced at $2.34 earlier, investor wariness would arise for current MLT' s PO Exercise,.... At $1.99 per unit price of Preferential Offering against current mkt price of $2.02,... hmm,.... |

Emm,... I still think,.. for this good REIT,... it' s sentiment due to macro events now,... But the sponsor and the REIT Mgr must ' keep the price' above $1.99 to ensure the success of the PO Exercise, but of course, for whatever Excess Units not taken-up, there is always the sponsor there who will have to mop up the units.
