x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Brother, this is precisely what I mean.  Will they allow the bomb to drop?  I think people just do not understand how  close the regulatory  control is, n how  strong the supervisory  regime is.  Everything here seems well n effectively managed.  That the who banking sector has evolved from a fragmented playgrd of a multitude of small bks to three solid sizeable banking institutions is not by chance.  Go back to the research n see.  If any one of these three pillars were allowed to collapse, imagine how big the detriment to  confidence it' d be not only for the financial sector, but the economy as a whole too - the ripple effects, the loss of jobs, etc, etc.  No, it' d never happen here, for so long as the political landscape remains .... this is no  Baring or Lehman' s land.  GuavaXF30      ( Date: 15-Feb-2016 09:46) Posted: If OCBC close shop, do you think the Goverment will do nothing and allow this to happen ? Worst case scenario is their shares, including other co's shares on the market, will be traded at a very low price. However, 'low' is just a relative idea, for today's 'low' may well become 'high' later, valuations notewithstanding. But no one can tell. As the saying goes, the stock market is an irrational beast. In reality, it is not easy to live through loss, though it is easy to comfort oneself (or others) with the 'long-term investment' thinking. The hard reality is losses are hard, very hard, to bear in daily living. Disagree at your own risk.
