Talking about SPH, I was a shareholder haha.. Back to Singpost, can see that management is trying its best to change/improve on its business model. Current cost optimisation measures such as tie up with Cheers does help though will not be of much effect. Just have to wait and see if there are any other plans coming up. Much talk on Singpost centre reit but I prefer that it be sold outright. Not now yet and probabaly mid next year bah.. If it does not materialise, then Reit can be the fallback option. As for Alibab, already write them off since they began disposing last year. Impact to sp will be mute, I think, if there is any further sale. In fact, its better that they sell off. Current sp I feel is undervalued and there is potential to rise, which is why I have been buying whenever it drops. Holding for at least a year or 2.  Waiting and hoping for New CEO to fire her 1st shot of good news | ||||

Ok fair enough.. U purchased both SPH and its REIT at prices above their delisting price and that is why you had a negative experience. I purchased  both SPH and its REIT at prices below their delisting price and that is why I had a positive experience. |

There will always be people who made and people who lost.   But neither changed history of SPH. SPH was over $4 before REIT spin off.   It then entered into multi-year decline to as low as $1.   Shareholders got a lifeline when SPH was delisted at $2.4 and Paragon REIT was delisted at $0.98. In other words, the only thing that saved shareholders from massive losses was delisting. Want to fact check again?

Hey Bin~ There are investors who have made money from privatisation of SPH. It is only the media portion that is not viable and not the entire company... please get your facts right before posting. Similiar to SPH' s ex CEO famous quote of taking umbrage..... well ....u do offend people when you never fact check before posting at all... |

Be careful what you wish for.   Just like AU sale, market might discount both capital loss + future profit loss. Similarly, if there' s news of seperating properties into a separate REIT, you run for the hills as it will be repeat of SPH.

Who say Lazada and Alibaba using Singapost , ever you heard abount SF  顺 丰 国 际   , FedEx, DHL, Amazon , they have their own carrier, sorting centre , delivery platform to send door to door service to customer.   |

what you perceived as short, could be Alibaba continue too reduce its stake and some shortists are going along and buying at the same time (what an opportunity) since 5 Sept till today 25 Sept, the remaining 4.61% after all the selling likely marginal  we should be hearing some new directive soon ... soon  if seriously the management wants to sell SingPost Centre ... not a bad idea  Paya Lebar Green put up for sale at nearly S$600m, after securing Visa as anchor tenant  |

1) I think Alibaba divestment of Singpost is positive for Singpost. I noticed only ecommerce sites like Lazada, Aliexpress (owned by Alibaba) uses Singpost. Others like Shopee, Shien, etc will not as Alibaba is their major competitormin ecommerce. Why support Alibaba by indirectly giving biz to Singpost.  So, in a way, Singpost is handicapped by Alibaba ownership. The ecommerce landscape has changed and there are a lot more aggressive competitors. 2) Sites like Shopee that depends on an army of part timers for logistics will face risks. Just like Grab which used readily available private hire drivers to complete against ComfortDelgro, so when cars get more expensive, hidden costs like regulations and insurance were added, Grab lost their advantage of " cheap" gig workers. Ecommerce sites that depend solely on part timers for logistics will face similar issues since gig workers can move elsewhere, especially when labour costs are rising. With Cheers, it' s 24/7. expect a cut in headcount, cost effective? not sure yet as we do not know the detail of charges Cheers have on Singpost, my guess, expect a standard charges monthly and charges per item handled. with this can do away with all hdb SP shophouses.  Can expect more money in SP, question still roll back to how / ahat they  will do with it, sp div or reinvest? dyodd

rich ppl willing to pay will have a door-step delivery, congratz to you. But return cannot la, either you pay, self return or lucky is seller have free return services, if you do shop e-commance, a lot of them do have that in it especially more higher valued items, In fact, although I am happy about the self collection at HDB units, that' s only if that unit is not next door, inmagine everyday, you see strangers moving into that floor which you do not know teir real intension, finger cross nothing bad happen or that will be put a stop if neighnour start making concerns. Yes, so far shoppee is the only one making delivery till late night (after 10pm), delivery man are happy on the overtime, hopefully not another grab problem of long hour working in futures. still i say all this are speculative, let see how things move, the move to Cheer is clearly a cost cutting event, how effective, only next year then we can tell. dyodd.

yes, that was in the past .... you have forgotten end of last year, a major overhaul of C-suite .... plus the sale of Australian logistics biz, shophouses etc the new team will make it relevant .... moving of operation from SingPost Centre to Tampines  doing away with obsolete stuffs .... soon .... soon  get excited ... soon ... soon  have you bought the space shuttle .... please do so  |

Even in my work, I mostly received letter or parcel from Shunfeng, sometimes dhl, never singpost.
The key message here is that, singpost not only suffers because of traditional mail delivery, but they are already irrelevant in the new world. |
