Oh it will drop for sure but it is temporary only.
If a trader is well versed, they will know Singtel is not dropping to the bottom of the ocean when the price drops. It is actually stopping at a few ports picking new and existing passengers. So expected some delays. Occasionally there will be choppy waters along the journey but nothing the liner cannot handle (those are your shortists) There will be some port of call that will offer free stays (that is your dividend) and comes full meal and Thai massage. I believe we already know where will be heading to. I always prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Everyone have different expectations as each have different TP and different set of portfolio. It is still long for me as I am really too lazy keep track as I am not a day trader but an investor. Again, I would like to remind all this is not a financial advise. You need to remind yourself to do some DD every now and then to keep yourself updated. Not just throwing money and then it will auto make money for you. You need to make your money work for you.

Further, the telecom companies Reliance Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea are reportedly planning on increasing prices once again after up to 25% in November 2021. The increased prices will    reportedly  push Airtel' s ARPU to around ₹ 200.    Jio  and Vodafone' s Idea' s ARPU is expected to increase to ₹ 185 and ₹ 135 respectively all leading to improving margins in the sector.

With GXS Bank, Grab-Singtel will likely first aim to offer digital banking services to their significant existing user base in Malaysia. As of late 2020, about 62% of Malaysia' s population (20 million registered users) used Grab' s services in Malaysia, including ride-hailing, food delivery and digital financial services.

Haha, I like your analogy: investment vs mbs, sin pool. For me, I see another 15-20% drop across the board given the unabating headwinds, namely inflation and recession. It is anybody' s guess when this will happen.

Singtel further decentralises organisational structureThe telco group' s decision to transfer the management of the Optus Enterprise division to Optus comes as part of an ongoing move to further decentralise its organisational structure. The move will also effectively give Optus more operational autonomy and direct accountability, the group said in a press release. Since our strategic reset a year ago, we' ve been evolving our operating model to stay relevant and maximise shareholder returns and this is another step in that direction, said Singtel Group CEO, Yuen Kuan Moon. |

That is why, I cannot be bothered when the price dips. If it really dip, I will do my part and buy more. I am not afraid of it dipping as what goes down, will go back up. With so much more to offer from them on overseas investments and upcoming DBL, I personally do not see it going down too low. Just be prepared for current inflation, follow by mild recession - it is expected. This is not like COVID-19 which the whole world was not fully prepared. Recession is in the books and companies are preparing to weather the storm for at least 1-2 years.  So best place to make your money work is via investments but make sure you do your own DD. Not just investing on Singtel lar. You are free to chose any counters you think will work well. Do not expect instant miracles when you start investing on stocks. If no patience, then best to go MBS or Sentosa or Singapore Pools as these are your best bets for instant money disappearing into thin air! A gentle reminder, this is not a financial advise. All investments comes with a low, medium and high risk.

Potential £ 165m sale of Amobee to improve Singtel&rsquo s profitability: analysts

SINGTEL : Z74 -1.18% is reportedly in talks to sell its advertising technology unit Amobee in a deal that analysts said should lead to an improvement in the telco' s profitability.

Tremor International, a UK-listed advertising technology company, is said to be in talks with mainboard-listed Singtel to purchase Amobee for £ 165 million (S$280.4 million), according to a Sky News report on Monday (Jun 20).

Sources suggested the deal could be closed &ldquo in the next fortnight&rdquo .

Analysts said the deal would be both earnings- and value-accretive for Singtel.

As at Mar 31, 2022, Singtel had reclassified Amobee as a subsidiary held for sale, with total asset value of S$449.8 million and a net asset value of S$216.6 million.

The company has posted pre-tax losses of S$70.2 million and S$81.9 million in FY2022 and FY2021, respectively.

Morningstar analyst Dan Baker said that although Singtel had tried to diversify its business through Amobee, as have many other cash-rich telcos in the world, Amobee has &ldquo not performed as well as expected&rdquo .

Over the years, he noted, Amobee acquired other businesses: data analytics company Turn for US$310 million, mobile ad company Adconion for US$235 million and advertising tech startup Kontera for US$150 million.

But the value of Amobee was written down in FY2020, FY2021 and FY2022 by S$195 million, S$589 million and S$310 million, respectively.

DBS analyst Sachin Mittal called the acquisition of US-based Amobee for US$321 million in 2012 a mistake, as Singtel never had a presence in the US to begin with.

&ldquo Whether it&rsquo s for Trustwave in the US, or Amobee in the US, Singtel doesn&rsquo t have any influence or associates there. There was no synergy to be extracted,&rdquo he said.

Nevertheless, if the divestment goes through at £ 165 million, Mittal said it would be considered a good price for a loss-making business, judging by Amobee&rsquo s carrying value and the weakening of tech companies&rsquo valuations in the global market.

&ldquo In the case of over-the-top arm Hooq Digital, which liquidated in March 2020, Singtel had to incur liquidation-related costs,&rdquo he noted.

He added that cybersecurity business Trustwave and the telco&rsquo s fibre optic assets in Australia could be next in Singtel&rsquo s divestment pipeline as it seeks to meet its S$3 billion capital divestment target after its strategic reset announced in 2021.

Citi analysts Arthur Pineda and Luis Hilado said in a report on Tuesday that proceeds from the sale of the business could be recycled into other initiatives, such as its participation in the capital raising of associate Globe Telecom.

Globe Telecom, Singtel&rsquo s associate in the Philippines, is raising 32 billion pesos (S$823.4 million) through a rights issue from its shareholders.

In addition, Citi noted that while the divestment would likely have a marginal positive impact on net earnings and value accretion, it would still be a &ldquo step in the right direction in enhancing value&rdquo , they said.
