regretted buying dbs What is the point of having good dividend when share price will be falling back to $30? imagine if we make correct decision to accumulate more on KC instead, I will not only collect good dividend but the share price risen as well. That will be a good investment |

2023 dividend till date is $1.34, already a solid 4.1% return based on $32.03! Not even considering $0.84 for rest of year.
We entering the may-July period, just need to spread out ur fund and continue to accumulate. It?s almost a risk free investment (to me). You get to retain the value of ur investments, while collecting an average dividend of 5%. Dyodd. |

If you sell at $32, you don?t get any dividend, unless you buys put option to sell at $32, and continue collect your dividend for 3 years and exercise the put or better

Simple math calculation ... $37 /$1.68 = 22 years ie in 22 years' time you collect $37 dividend,  if you sell DBS at the end of 22 years, enough for you to buy 22 years lunch.

Hahaha, if u choose to see it that way, so be it. Actually is take 22 years to make 100%, not breakeven because u still hold the shares. Not forgetting 42c unlikely to stay for 22 years. Just few years back, the dividend was 18c per qtr. Now more than double already. Anyway, my purchases all well below 37. |

True, if you have bought DBS at $37, you just need to receive 22 years of dividend at $0.42 each quarter to breakeven.

Different ppl different reason for buying DBS. For me, it' s a super long term investment. More for passive income rather than for capital gain. Yes, after this year which is still expected to be good, DBS growth may slow down. However, it' s 42c DPU is likely sustainable. This is more important to me than price appreciation. Of course many buy to trade are disappointed with current price. Nothing wrong. To each his own. |

Take a longer term view. If don' t need the $, just kee collecting dividends. Price will be hovering like this and no one can tell what will happen next. Who knows , macro   may change and then all things turn bullish in Q3 and price start to move up. | ||||

DBS posts record $2.57 billion Q1 profit, says net interest margins have peaked
Not as if their share price is now $36 at the peak, it is hovering at the $32 support, after it declared $0.42 dividend and drop $1.00 from yesterday high, really is give you a chicken wing and take back the whole chicken DBS must do share buyback to support

think I just want to vent out my disappointment This year, most will predict that DBS will continue to make good profit, but still price keep dropping. Thanks to US banking issue.    Im not sure for next year vs this year record profit. Interest rates may start to drop depending on FED (drastically?) and high end net worth may pull out their money and start to consider other countries such as Malaysia or Thailand, due to much lower cost of living and stricter regulation from SGP. Anyway, Im just trying to think about coming future, so pls dont take it seriously, ya |

LOL why would profit drop drastically ? Pls advise ? interest is NOT going to drop drastically and in fact potential for qtr pt or more rise over next 2 rounds ...NIM is still there.  Wishing it can drop more to accumulate .
