I wonder how many of them covered their shorts on the actual day or did they borrow script to short and have not covered yet. Those that borrowed scripts and shorted, they have to cover their short position next week becos fri is the last day and capitaland will be delisted and if they still have open short position, they will incur huge loss as CLI is expected (more likely) to trade at $3 which means that unless they are able to short at $4.20 and above, if not most likely they will incur a huge loss if they do not cover back their shorts by friday. Then for those intraday shortist, BBs can catch them becos if they dun cover back their shorts and leave it to force buy back by SGX for them, then they going panic as price goes higher and higher and Fri is approaching. Monday is expected to be a green day since Dow went up on Fri. So left Tues, Wed and Thurs for them to " play" short. But as Fri approaches, I think they dare not short liao. Hopefully next week the shortist will disappear. Short report for last week. x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Right now the highest touched was 4.12 on wed or thursday (cant remember). So perhaps there are shortist who are still sitting on paper gain as the current share price is 4.04. There is only 5 days left and with Powell dovish tone and Dow recovering 200+ points yesterday, Monday would be a up day. So left with only 4 days. And fri is the last day so i dun think shortist dare to short on fri. So effectively left with 3 days, Tues, Wed and Thurs. I think most of them will take profit on Monday , I dun think they dare to wait becos if Dow continues to rise, the share price may shoot past 4.12 then they will be making a loss.  So as long as Dow dun crash from Mon to Wed nite, I think next week will be a very good week for capitaland. josemmm123      ( Date: 28-Aug-2021 17:19) Posted: They had to cover back by next Fri latest but i think most of them will cover back by Wed to prevent exposing themselves to short squeeze..  If they wait until last day Fri they are exposing themselves to potential short squeeze aka ppl pushing the share price up and up to force the shortist to buy at very high price hence suffering a huge loss . x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	The answer is simple.  If the shortists don' t cover by Thursday then all their positions    will be FORCE COVERED AUTOMATICALLY ! - The short players  will end up paying a far  higher price than the market price. Adrianinsing      ( Date: 27-Aug-2021 18:09) Posted: With the greatest respect I disagree - I have been through around 20 delisting since 1980 in Singapore and while price  fluctuations are perfectly normal - the pricing of a new entity from the original delisted share is an important part of a successful  delisting. How can we say that the delisting is successful when the share to be delisted is still trading ? !  Take a full look at the dates and process of the delisting    It is not just about a share price like CapitaLand going up Rather it is about transferring ownership. Not everyone judges    a successful delisting on profits alone ( of CapitaLand) but on the full    process.  The delisting is a complete process.  I agree it will still be successful even if CLI does not go up but the listing must be completed - it hasn' t succeeed until  this happens. To repeat - to be fully successful ( which I have no doubt Capitaland delisting will be )  the delisting ends once CLI is successfully listed by CapitaLand.
