Shareholder meeting in 15 Apr 2015, time to chop down the NOL management for 4 years of losses. Temasek would not tolerate this kind of nonsense as per singapore kiasu kiasi mentality. Hope we get some kind of insight on NOL future in the meeting cos really i don see any shipping stocks remain listed with only the core business of shipping most associated themselve with some kind of stable busines earningl like ship building / energy / logistic. think the army general time in nol limited as he would be posted to a comfortable positon in PSA after his stint in NOL lol. Pressure gona be building up on management to either merge core business or privatisation as it did not need to remain listed to raise capital. Merger or Privatisation is the theme hopefully.l |

One should be glad to invest in the correct shipping stock. As compared to Ezra, Vard, Cosco which have been halfed in value. NOL just around 17% of its portion (APL Logistics) sold for 1.2 Billion.
Though it dropped a bit, but the NOL Management made the right choice to sustain itself & recapitalize itself without borrowing. As such, its debt can be rapidly reduced & restructuring funds increased. Coupled with new fleets (cost billions) & oil price which is cheaper by 50% compared to previous 5 years. NOL future is very bright, with great rebounding prospects to reflect its true value. In SGX, few made it to top. NOL is considered top of many shipping companies in good valuation in itself. Therefore, the bright future awaits & NOL shall realm once more in its future glory! |

Like i mentioned in earlier post, sale of APL logistic is the step towards privatisation / merging of the liner divison. However there is still one major block that is the hidden value of the port terminal that APL liner owned. No investors would accept a merger deal or privitisation unless that hidden jewel is uncovered and unlocked, the port terminals was valued at US$800M 2 years ago on a articles on NOL assest value. NOL take over APL in 1997 at around 250+ mil with the port terminal included, after 17 years Singapore had developed the port terminal in LA to be one ofthe biggest in west coast US. Can imagine how much value to be unlocked from that?. In 2006 Temasek made a valiant effort to privatise NOL through offer of $2.80 per share and NTA that time was around US$1.08. But that one fail they only get around 35% and increased their share holding to 65% lol. At that price nobody wanna to sell lol. Currently market sentiment in SGX suck, need big players to participate then ship got life otherwise it is boring trade. Winner would be long time investors who can stomach the paper losses and laugh to the bank when NOL value is fully unlocked. |

Selling away the one that make profit and left the one that always in the lost. I don't know what the ex 3 star general doing. He also thought he can be like the ex Ang mo boss sell away NOL building then 3 years later buy back. But I think this time he got no chance to buy back as Koh will not give him the chance to buy back. The business world is very different from Amy world. Just my 2 cents opinion . | ||||
