hotels in singapore enjoy good tourist visit. many nights sold out in their hotels. real estate launched project well sold or almost sold out.  laterst cooling measures very reasonable and behind now. wonder what' s the reason for the sell down. maybe it' s just fear.  |

uob has declared another 60cents dividend. estimate uol will received $23.772m in dividend. plus the already received dividend of $23.772m already received on 13 May. uol should be able  to pay good dividend. hope at lease back to 2019 level. the comming results will be good with, 1 the dividend received from uob. from other listed hotel, commercial, office report we can see  improving hotel, commercial, and office space income.    successful real estate sale. sold out projects Trever, Clavon, Avenue South. Trever TOP more then 90% sold The water garden at canberra, amo residences. going forward, they will have hotel completions, f1 race, a few projects in the plan. with all these i see uol price above $8.when i no know. dyodd |

the overall prices increased in private housing is driven by hdb and a long number of years for resale levy.  basically new hdb build is not enough to satisfy demand. people turn to resale. but these has also turn out to in short supply causing a surge in price. my view is the 5years min occupation period is overkilled and unfair for resale hdb, even for private 5 years is over killed. imagine the number of units sell in the market, these are all locked up for 5 years.  i think the government projection is base on these units being available in their calculations.  ( my guess only).  in my opinion to curb speculation, the upfront tax is enough. the resale tax should be removed or reduced in years to 3 then 2 later. few speculators can afford to have their money lock up for 2-3 years. the downside is also for non speculative owners who under circumstances are hit. like job posting. sudden lost of income. wrong environment etc. so while the measures were good when put in. it is time to removed them. no need to worry that it will make the people who put in the measure to look bad. they were useful in their time. but become a problem now. |

On May 12, Wee Investments acquired 200,000 shares of UOL Group : U14 +3.96% at an average price of S$6.99 per share. This took the total interest in the company of UOL Group chairman Wee Cho Yaw from 38.29 per cent to 38.32 per cent. It followed Wee Investments&rsquo acquisition of 500,000 shares also at S$6.99 per share between May 10 and 11. Wee also serves as the chairman of UOL Group, United Overseas Insurance, Haw Par Corporation and Singapore Land Group.

their property development doing well. the watergarden at canberra sold 374 out of 448 units clavon sold 628 out of 640 units. avenue south residences sold 1011 out of 1074 meyerhouse sold 44 out fo 56 units. amber 45  sold 139 out of 139 units the tree ver sold 729 out of 729 units. with the sold out units going top the comming results should be not too bad. launching the amk ave 1 condo soon. expecting Jun 22. other positives.  their investment in UOB start to pay higher dividend. the last one 60c . my estimate is the dividend will be about 40+m for fy. this is a slow counter. slowly up type not for those want fast fast return one.  dyodd   |

Between May 10 and 11, Wee Investments acquired 500,000 shares of the company at an average price of S$6.99 per share. This took the total interest of UOL Group : U14 +1.88% chairman Wee Cho Yaw in the company from 38.24 per cent to 38.29 per cent. The preceding acquisitions by Wee Investments were on Mar 8 with 899,200 shares acquired at S$6.80 per share, and Mar 7 with 964,000 shares acquired at S$6.85 per share. 
 
At the annual general meeting held on Apr 27, UOL Group&rsquo s CEO Liam Wee Sin maintained that with Singapore decisively moving from the pandemic to the endemic stage, he was cautiously optimistic that the company would emerge stronger from the pandemic with the opening of borders. He added that Singapore&rsquo s reconnection with the world would help to restore consumer confidence and give a much-needed boost to the businesses, in particular, the tourism/hospitality sector.   Liam also maintained that the company would continue to pursue asset enhancement initiatives for its investment portfolio while leveraging on its domain knowledge to deliver strong product offerings for residential projects.

i think the hit is indirect in the sense that it depends on who owns the shares before the war. so some counters are not affected or little affected as lesser institutional participation then. but all these are pass events already. if they need to sell already sold. ukraine situations looks improving and peace treaty soon. just the horses trading process. banks are benefiting from interest rate increased cycle. market speculation is 0.5% in may. whatever it is i think it will be quick up then stop as 8 nov is usa election. plus oil price may collapse once peace is more visible. pressure on increasing inflation due to oil will come down. my speculative guess only. dyodd |

very little downside risk as below 7. wee buy around 7.  there is a 15c div excd 6 may  pay 20 may. current price 7.11 is very limtited downside. with the recovery price likely to move up. uol owns quite some uob.  uob pay dividend 60c compare to 39c previously.  uol price has not move in tandem with uob.
