Happy new year to all retailers here, be it short or long term. And for posting good fundamental information to allow us better assessment. I feel this share we can keep and sleep well. It will continue to build high margin ships over this decade....Rens will realise they are on a gold mine here and with such confidence, they will listen to the top institutions to give out more divs. Let' s see in 23 Feb... In Jun 2023, the syndicates (institutions and gangsters, if you like) fried up stock to 1.75 on the back of excellent orderbook gains and strong fundamentals. I believe they are now doing it again to reflect the good results to be announced. Should this happen, coupled with a very attractive div, we have no issue seeing it rise and get absorbed above $2.00. The gangsters play an important role in this, by pushing up stock, they pressure the Rens to back it with good divs. But then again, I don' t think they care too much about the share price. They want to keep entire cash chest in the dungeons of their bedroom.....let' s adjudge them soon.... They have learnt from the sister listing. It started with some grandious vision to rule the financial world, hire some dream teams, concocted some super funds etc. Now it fell flat with no good visibility, meatless or shifty business models, and nothing for any sensible investor to measure them on, be it P/B, PER, NTA or even DY. Only left with cult faith retailers now. Started like a champ and ended a chimp.....hahaha We truly hope the Rens learn this hard lesson, and readjust both companies to be more holistic.      |

Thanks for the link, Panda8. Good read. China has overtaken Korea in shipbuilding industry, that is for sure. They are also moving into the more sophisticated oil & gas, not on exploration or production but the equipment needed. They are now fighting with our Seatrium, which not too long ago was the dominant force. As mentioned in the video, due to yards constraint, the Korean pick & choose contracts, that was why they lost out to China in 2023. It' s exactly what happened to YZJ now, unless they expand, they will lose out too. And not forgetting China fellow yards are doing catching up and are almost as good now. YZJ contracts completion dates already stretches to 2027 and fast filling up. No increase in capacity means contracts will go to other yards. Maybe, YZJ more innovative, can do the job significantly faster. As for emailpeter' s comment, yes, we need more shareholders to voice out. Pressure the Rens to give out more dividend. They no longer have reason to hold up so much free cash! |

Evident to all businesses, shipbuilding is a highly cyclical business. While we are experiencing the breakneck demand of YZJSH from 2022-2026, the emerging clean shipbuilding might well pull it beyond decades... Equally important is our need to watch its operators closely, as they built up solid unshakeable confidence of its massive incoming free cashflow to add towards its already huge (HUGE !!) cash reserves. That it will shed it' s stingy predisposition, to add more to dividends, which in turn will let the Top institutions take care of its share price, certainly going past $2.00 is attainable and sustainable. We have every reason to be concerned going by their historical hoarding of cash to start tangential business that led to a botched listing. ---------------------------- China Wants to Dominate the New Era of Clean Shipbuilding https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-12-29/china-wants-to-dominate-the-new-era-of-clean-shipbuilding China wants to extend its lead in global shipbuilding to a new generation of vessels that burn cleaner fuels.  The nation is targeting building more than half of global vessels powered by lower-carbon fuels including liquefied natural gas and green methanol by 2025, according to a joint statement released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and four other departments. The goal is in line with Beijing?s plans to future-proof its massive industrial complex by focusing on sectors that will gain prominence as the world tries to reduce emissions over the next few decades. China already dominates global production of solar panels, batteries and electric vehicles. China?s shipyards built more than 50% of the world?s ships over the first 11 months of 2023. But shipbuilding is on the cusp of a massive transformation, with fleet owners beginning to replace oil-powered vessels with ones that burn cleaner fuels as they try to reach an International Maritime Organization pledge of zeroing out emissions around 2050.  Last year, orders for ships powered by slightly cleaner LNG jumped to near 40% of the total, from about 15% in 2019, according to BloombergNEF. Green methanol, a fuel with little to no lifetime emissions, has seen orders more than double this year, BNEF said in an August report.  In addition to the target for building such vessels, China also plans to speed up research and design of new types of ships powered by liquefied ammonia, hydrogen and even carbon dioxide. A unit of China State Shipbuilding Co. has secured more than $1 billion in contracts to build methanol container ships for A.P. Moller-Maersk A/S, local media reported earlier this month. |
