x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	KepDC ranked 32(Market Cap). Temasek owned 21% (S$ 794M) SATS ranked 33(Market Cap). Temasek owned 30% (S$ 1,258M) It depend on how soon SGX or Temasek want Seatrium to be included in STI, will it depend on Market Cap or Profitability or etc....

By end of the year we should be seeing big return already. n3wbie      ( Date: 28-May-2023 10:35) Posted: Yes you are right - there will only be 30 companies on the STI. Changes are either when there is inclusion, i.e. companies that meet the liquidity and free float thresholds and market cap is 20th largest or better. These companies are already those on the STI reserve list which includes Seatrium, Olam, etc. We are already past the market-cap cut-off date, which is typically around a month before the announcement date. Through the ' inclusion' method, then the smallest market cap constituent will be excluded. Alternatively, it is the exclusion method where the smallest market cap constituent drops to 41th or worse and then the largest market cap on the reserve list will be included. These rules by FTSE have been in place for some time now... so not sure why DBS is saying both conditions need to be met. I had thought that any changes usually take place during the March / September review. Given Seatrium market cap, it is only a matter of time that it gets included in STI. As a matter of fact, the effect of institutional fund flows from inclusion into MSCI Global way exceeds that of STI given just how many passive funds there are which track MSCI rather than STI.
