The scary part is capex starting from now every year need close to 6 billion to burn till 2023 total around 30billions for next 5 years. Best gov just take this back, not behaving like commercial airline it doing national service on investor money.

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	SIA ran into 4QFY17 loss of $138.3m from $224.7m profit a year ago, due to intense competition and a cargo provision, brining FY17 earnings to $360.4m (-55.2%), missing estimates. Revenue stagnated at $3.72b as the increase in load factor to 80.6% (+2.1ppts) was offset by a 4.7% drop in passenger yield. Operating profit plunged 82% to $27.6m, dragged by higher fuel costs (+4.6%) and weak subsidiary performances at SilkAir (-15.6%), Scoot/Tigerair (-53.2%) and SIAE (-11.1%). Final DPS shaved to $0.11, giving FY17 payout of $0.20 (FY16: $0.45). Outlook remains challenging amidst overcapacity and aggressive pricing by rivals. Trades at 0.98x P/B.

Now bb must be gauging whether sia can made it this year so it gona be rangebound 10 to 11 swinging about 0.9 to 1x valuation. Personnel i prefer temasek bail out and sell off sia, releasing value for all investors in a faster time frame than waiting for turnaround which might take years.

It what happen to nol too, same pattern seen chairman replaced by outsider and cost efficiency done requested by buyer. Stock was well supported too and result bad guess our national airline would be gone before yearend hehe. Offer price most likely 11 only as current revised bk ex dividend is 11. Sg don had talent to manage transport companies, everything need to be sold off lol.
