Maybe you' d like to explain how selling off SIA to a foreign entity can somehow make more people want to use Singapore as a layover (which is the primary purpose of national carriers).

Nah it would not go down to 8, temasek would sell their stake to trigger a buyout. Compare to nol, sia in better shape plus it super cash rich. Nol loses money for 5 years total losses 2bil still can sell for scrap value 1x book value lol. Just don expect buyer to pay premium for sia, 1x book value. For sia it the 77% siaec that is the crown jewel.

T4 open in 2h17, if sia unable to bring in traffic all those shops would take hit. T5 opening in 2020, bigger than t1 t2 t3 t4 combined, how to ensure enough traffic depending on sia. By the way from changi latest statistic sia account for 50% of terminal traffic, anyway to grow sia ensuring investor interest meet. It mission impossible, that why nol got sold off on condition to cma as tuas terminal opening in next few year need cma traffic. Stock price in stagnant for last 5 years setting up base for offer price, 5 years average bk valuation is 1x. | ||||

Learn to read? I said SIA is not just a business, its also our NATIONAL CARRIER  (that font big enough for you?). Its more than just a means of transport, we also use it to promote tourism. At most TH will take this private if it goes down to $8 or something. No way this will be sold off to some foreign entity.

Nol sold off at 1x book value after it divest off apl logistic, currently sia book value is 11 dollar with 77% siaec stake. So if sia divest off siaec stake on current siaec stock price, it worth a whopping 3bil plus, combine it with sia existing bk. It gona be way higher than current depressed stock price. Value hidden in siaec stake.

Don worry too much, today sia drop is not match by huge volume. House traders who push up sia on unreliable analysis got burnt badly, long term investors wait for eventual sale of sia and siaec divestment most likely happen this year. As our government don do half job, they had divested off nol, smrt now it just the biggest slice of the 3 need to be done. Again sia not for short term investors, gona be lot of drama and up down ride | ||||

Don touch is best, shit is too much heart attack for normal investors. Today tank 6.5% killing almost anyone who buy in this year in 1 shot, currently sia not doing much damage control unlike other temasek linked cou ters when u see immediate share buyback to counter shortist. That is also one of key argument of sia going up for sale, no sharebuyback when share tank below 10 compare to previous years when sharebuyback pop immediately whenever 10 dollar crossed. Make no point to do share buyback if u gonna put the whole sia grp for sale, conserve cash to sweeten the deal.

That what lot of peep said about nol, in the end temasek sold it off on steep discount on cma promise to shift their regional distribution centre from malaysia to sg. That is also why psa container traffic go up lol. Airlines not essential service sg need to provide unlike smrt which gov take it private. High chance the deal to sell off sia is underway explain lot of weird stuff going, stuff sia management never did on last 5 years. If sia divest off it 77% stake in siaec, prepare for sia eventual sale. Very similar to what happen to nol, apl logistic, smrt, mrt asset. Everything look damn too similar. If buyer agreed to shift more air traffic to changi, u gona bet temasek would sell sia cheap cheap just 1x book value around 11. | ||||

NOL was just a business,   SIA is our national carrier, no way will the government sell it off to foreigners. Privatisation is possible but very unlikely, SIA is trading right around book value, no reason for temasek to take it private now.

Best is don touch this is like nol case ah kong company, in the end it would get privatised or sold off for the right price. SIA cargo long time should be axed of   but they dragged their feet till today, restructuring happening now instead of doing it earlier. The european file provision is 10 years ago case but being used as excuse to axe sia cargo. Even the merging of scoot and tiger look fishy plus the cut throat pricing to bring up load in jan to march. All these thing sia never do it in the last 5 years but now everything happen at once, hold tight privatization might be on the card | ||||
