Big Corp has analysed this business before enlisting HSBC ( if not wrong ) to help sell this Also if I am not wrong it does not goes well w the current plan of SCI moving into the clean energy business plan ( long term ) More so , it might not meet the target price of what SCI is hoping for . They maybe looking for another buyers as I doubt they will keep this for long term Dyodd

How u know? Why the BT news did not include those other items? If S$0.20 is for disposal of SembWaste, then what are those items accounted for S$0.80. The missing items are 4 times more. Doesn' t sound right. If u tell me today' s fall is S$0.80 and the missing items are just S$0.20, I might believe in what u have said. I know the argument hurt especially when u are a holder but it is always good to know if the price will slide also tomorrow so that we can add more. I am never a blind follower. Just sharing.

BT reported that CIMB uplifted the target price to S$6.20 from S$5.12 (uplifted by S$1.08) following news of the group& rsquo s potential divestment of its waste management business, If the traders are done with a correction of just S$0.20 today, then It would only mean that CIMB could have over estimated the target price or gain. SCI is the one that changed their decision not to sell and not that there is no buyer out there. Likely have something more attractive than selling to the 2 interested party involved.

Sembcorp Industries drops plan to sell its waste-management business
ENERGY company Sembcorp Industries : U96 0% has decided not to sell its waste-management business and its energy-from-waste plant, it announced in a bourse filing on Tuesday (Jul 25).
It had opened talks on divesting from SembWaste and the plant, but that process has now been terminated.
Sembcorp Industries had confirmed on Jun 5 that it was exploring a potential sale of these assets about a month after Reuters reported that United States private-equity group KKR and Australia&rsquo s Macquarie Asset Management were among potential bidders for them.
Shares of the company hit an eight-year high of S$4.73 the day after the Reuters report in May, though it eventually traded lower it closed at S$4.66 after the group said in a May 10 bourse filing that there was no definitive deal to sell its waste-management unit.
Shares closed 2.9 per cent higher at S$5.34 after its Jun 5 filing confirming the report and announcing that discussions had begun. Sembcorp said that day that the potential sale of SembWaste and the energy-from-waste plant was part of &ldquo ongoing strategic initiatives to maximise shareholder value&rdquo .
HSBC was the appointed financial adviser for the potential sale, and preliminary discussions with selected parties had begun.
With the potential divestment terminated, Sembcorp said in its Tuesday bourse filing that it will continue to review its portfolio to ensure strategic fit and maximise shareholder value.

I really hope so .....weeks ago was all positive about this Semb waste sale / ( again report by oversea source) Then also some angmo hse came in to talk down on SCI ..saying worth $4.60 or so ( cant recall the actual number ) Now talk call off ...like someone know or planned it ?? Hmm coincident or what . SCI there target. .Hope not DYODD
