In its earnings report, the company warned that it might lose a major customer on Jurong Island in 2021, while another customer&rsquo s facilities in the UK will be undergoing a year-long overhaul. The two customers contributed around S$30 million, or 10% of SCI&rsquo s net profit before exceptional items, in 2020, and losing them would be a considerable blow to SCI. The incoming pressure on SCI&rsquo s top line might worry investors who are concerned about the group&rsquo s heavy debt load. SCI reported gross debt of S$7.7 billion as of 31 December 2020, compared to cash holdings of S$1.0 billion. In addition, the COVID-19 pandemic is still raging, causing significant uncertainty over the strength of the recovery for energy demand. x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	By end of Q1, when there is a result guildance, there should be much more re-rating from all the houses....SCI is more a pure energy play now ( urban smaller %) , certainly its PE wld be changed.  Awaiting also patiently for the SEIL listing and May investor day from CEO  Happy investing.

We highlight that gas & thermal utilities peers in the region trade at a P/B of 1.0-2.3x, renewables peers trade at 1.3-4.7x P/B while water & waste treatment peers trade at 1.8-2.4x P/B. Unfortunately, the company does not disclose the book value of its various business segments in this manner and thus we are not able to undertake a comparable-company valuation. Nevertheless, with SCI trading at 2021 P/B of 0.5x, we are confident that the valuation gap to its peers will close in the next 6- 12 months. Meaningful upside in the medium to long term, based on earnings multiples. Looking at SCI&rsquo s utilities comparables in the region, there appears to be meaningful valuation upside in excess of S$3.70 (excluding a holding company discount) if we were to use comparable PE multiples for its three business segments
