SCI is loss making in 2020 ex SMM' s contribution.  Ex SMM, SCI is barely making $200mil even on a good year Saddled with about $10billion debt and only $3+billion in shareholder equity and no good investment option, SCI is going to be zombie company for years.

Year after year, they will make ten of billions from trading, in the expense of retail players, like those on these forums. They can even take some hedge funds for lunch when the hedge funds are caught too leveraged in their positions. It is quite dificult to really track their positions through counterparties as they can be both buying and selling at the same time.
