Nobody purposely push down share price when they are dumping, they will be happy to sell higher when they dump shares. But today was different. For example OCBC, before closing, price was still $8.63, after closing OCBC BB put buy order at limit price of 8.73, and shortists answered with sell order with limit price of 8.27. Luckily, it still closed at $8.62. If they were dumping, they would be happy to sell at $8.7 range instead of pushing down to 8.27.
