 Alert Admin 		If you have paid $1.25 to subscribe for the rights, you will be able to trade it as normal shares tomorrow onwards.

 Alert Admin 		Todays' trading is affected by DOW future.  Most stock are down so individual is just following the poor market sentiment.  In fact this stock is still more bullish compares to others.

You don' t need to hold shares to do short sell, just borrow them to sell
A lot of shares in custodian accounts available for lending
Custodian brokers do not need your permission to lend shares for shorting
It may drop even further, but once shorting is over and they start covering, the price will go up very fast

If they buy back, it will push the price even furthur up

If you want a dividend of 5% and taking last year of 8 cents, the price of olam is $1.60
Olam share will rocket up all the way till on next wednesday.

 Alert Admin 		It's likely that Mit sold away their 17% rights entitlements. Who are the buyers is interesting (could be T?). Valid acceptances of 84% is strange ( foreign registered not allowed). If T didn't mop up all rights, net effect is greater free float due to public subscription of excess rights. Is that a condition precedent to IPO? Wild guess only....lol

Olam rights issue 118% subscribed, raises $601.7 mil
Olam International has raised $601.7 million in gross proceeds through its right issue, with a total of 482.4 million shares to be issued at $1.25 per share.
 
The company had announced the three-for-20 rights issue on June 22, to be fully sub-underwritten by major shareholder Temasek.
In a filing to the Singapore Exchange on July 22, Olam disclosed that the rights issue was subscribed by 118.2%.
 
Proceeds from the rights issue will largely be used to partially repay the two-year committed loan facility aggregating US$1 billion ($1.34 billion), along with accrued interest. The loan was used to finance the acquisition of OT Holdings Corp (Olde Thompson), which was completed at an enterprise value of US$950 million.
 
The rights shares are expected to be listed on the SGX-ST on July 28.

Mitsubishi Corporation did not subscribe for the Rights Shares entitlement. 
Contingent to the allotment and issue of the Rights Shares, the total number of issued Shares will be  554,689,829
Diluted from  17.28% to 15.03%

Mit last time kenna from T selling Olam to them think 20% stake@ $2.75 a pc 
Once bitten twice shy maybe. And Olam never recover to that price ever since.
You think now Mit would want to pump more $ (assuming full subscription of  right shares approx  83.2m  x $1.25 a pc ) another $104m.
They are still bleeding from the investment seating on huge paper los
