You can go to their company website and look under Investor Relations> Financials. Their revenue for FY2015 only increase by 1% from FY2014. Their net income for FY2015 and FY2014 both incurred losses even though FY2015 made less losses compared to FY2014. Their balance sheet is in bad shape. Their current liabilites is more than current assets. This means they have negative working capital. Their total liabilities is more than total assets. This means their net assest value (NAV) is negative. They have accumulated significant losses under their balance sheet and negative cash reserves. This company is in a real bad shape as far as fundamental analysis goes. Unless they do something to turnaround the company such as getting in strategic investors to inject capital into the company through private placements or raise equity through rights issue to save it because I think they may have difficulty getting anymore bank loans, I think it is just a matter of time that they may fall. In the event that the company falls, Investors may not get back any cash as the NAV of the company is negative and even if they sell off their entire assets at full value (whichever assets that can be liquidated), they still face a shortfall in fulfilling their total liabilites let alone return any cash back to its shareholders.

Blumont is a classic case of a speculative counter whereby its share price is pumped up significantly higher than what its business fundamentals can support. In fact, one of its business segments is in a risky sector of investing in commodities like energy and minerals, out of the other two which are sterilisation services and property investments. Its financials over the past years are very unpredictable with earnings losses on some years. Thus, based on business fundamentals alone, it may not be a good investment candidate. The historical sharp rise in its share price was not justifiable based on its business fundamentals. Such rise in share price on overstretched valuations cannot be supported for too long unless its business fundamentals catch up to support it. And true enough its share price fell back after the speculation in the shares of this company ended. This is a classical case of sentiments driving share price. However, eventually the underlying business fundamentals cannot be overlooked as such speculative movements in share price have to come to an end when the music stops and reality takes light. |

SINGAPORE: Malaysian dealmaker Soh Chee Wen's (pic) request to return to Malaysia was turned down by the courts on Wednesday, after the prosecution said that charges may be brought against him soon.
The Malaysian businessman, who has not been charged to date, has been helping the CAD with its sweeping probe launched in April 2014 into October 2013 penny stock crash that wiped out $8bil (RM23bil) in market value. But the prosecution has described Soh, 57, the possible "mastermind" in what has been called the biggest securities fraud to date. Investigations against Soh are "near the tailend" and charges may be brought by the end of the year, the prosecution added. The authorities are investigating possible violations of the Securities and Futures Act, stemming from alleged trading irregularities in the shares of Blumont Group, LionGold Corp and Asiasons Capital, now called Attilan Group. |
