Of the worldwide orders for 11 LR1 tankers (DWT 80,000 to 120,000) so far this year, YZJ got 9. They are: d' Amico International Shipping(DIS) &ndash 4 Evalend Shipping &ndash 2 Cape Shipping &ndash 2 Performance Shipping - 1 Only d&rsquo Amico is Italian, the rest are Greece companies. Of the 9 ships, 2 won in Apr and 1 last week. Current list price for one LR1 is about USD 60m. Apart from these 9 vessels, YZJ has another 9 from earlier orders, making them the number one builder for LR1 tankers. Lately, YZJ are building more and more types of vessels. Containerships now account for only 33 out of their total 80 ships on order. The other 47 are oil product tankers, chemical tankers and bulk carriers. The right move, considering the slowdown in box ship new build. |
