x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	there are different types of investors. some like growth, some like stable dividend. for those who like dividend, a 6% return is good. if there is a 20% cut in dividend going  forward it is still good compared to near zero return for deposit. capital can raise or fall. but at least one knows that over time, investment can be recovered with dividend. for traders this dbs daily range is profitable if they can ride on it. but mostly not worth as their broker made a lot more. more for house traders.

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	most people are correct about their forecast. the difference is the time. if one said it is going up/down. i ask in next 1hr , 1 day, 1 week, 1month, 1 year? the longer the time horizon the more a business will reflect it value. the shorter the time frame, the retailer get eaten by opertors. their trade cost very low but their business cost may not be low. so they cannot go long time horizon. i see a good price buy, high price sell a bit.there will always be a position and over time the cost gets lower. trade proft + dividend.

Those who buy will see up down up down in largely stagnant movement. And sti will be stagnant together as sti is just a clown exchange of the bank index. Why not call it bank index?

What for earn 6% dividend to have it drop and drop? Btw it is not 6% a year, i prefer to look at it as 1.5% dividend per quarter.  that banks will have lots of issue like bad debt, Low sibor rate, and the trend of declining interest rates worldwide. Only that UOB analyst Will be that bullish on banks. Talking rubbish totally.

Those internal GDP such as rental and retail and f&b I think do not matter so much. Because if one does not spend on f&b for example, sure f&b biz affected, but the money is still there in consumer hand.

Non-oil domestic exports (NODX) expanded by 16.1 per cent year on year, according to data from trade agency Enterprise Singapore (ESG) on Friday. The rebound followed a surprise slip in May, which was revised downwards to a 4.6 per cent contraction. June' s showing resoundingly beat private-sector economists' estimate of 8 per cent growth in a Bloomberg poll. NODX was boosted by specialised machinery exports and the typically volatile pharmaceutical segment. Non-electronic shipments rose by 14.5 per cent overall, after a 9 per cent decline in May. The growth was also driven by non-monetary gold, which surged by 238 per cent. ESG noted that physical gold has been a safe-haven asset amid heightened global economic uncertainty. Meanwhile, the linchpin electronics cluster saw exports rise by 22.2 per cent on a rebound in integrated circuits from the trough during the electronics down-cycle in the year before. " There are also increasing signs that pharmaceuticals production, which had initially seemed to benefit from the Covid-19 outbreak, may be faltering, leaving less of a cushion for headline GDP," he said. Singapore' s second-quarter gross domestic product is down 12.6 per cent year on year, in official estimates based on April and May data.
