Events arround the previous few FED meetings said when FED raises rates, the economy is perceived to be good, and stocks will rise for a while, then reality bites and cost of some business go up and stocks will fall. x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	U are right.  It' s not just OnG.  In fact, DBS  has probably made more provision  for its  China Fishery  Grp   exposure than Swiber.  But eople  just exploit the current negative OnG problems n sentiment to seek pleasure in putting down others.  Actually, NPLs are part n parcel of risk management at a bk, no matter how, where n when.  A bk cannot just take in deposits n not meaningfully deploy the funds.  Like I' d mentioned, business environments change faster than lightning at times.  To a bk, what might seem the most savvy deal one day might turn out to be the greatest disaster the next day.  To the customer, what might seem the greatest loan bargain from his banker might turn out to be the biggest booby trap the next day.  So, everything shd be viewed in perspective.  But of course, sensationalists there are a plenty.  N there' s probably no better time than now to enjoy themselves.    Sadly too, chng kays n shortists are in full swing.  I won' t  be surprised if there are collusions  among these devils to wreak greater havoc than othervise  for poor souls like us. lionking      ( Date: 03-Aug-2016 08:56) Posted: i think not just oil and gas companies who had borrowed tons of money from banks, just look at other areas

( I am not talking that banks are NOT affected....everyone is when economic condition is bad)  ​ However, like DBS case...this 700M is total exposure to Swiber...there are vessel , and other collaterate given before the loan is granted. etc etc. Nett, DBS think is 150M more ( they did have previous provision etc ) ....Whatever, this amount will affect them BUT NOT WHAT OTHERS WISHES TO PAINT ...DBS WILL CLOSE ? ( no way...it will just maybe reduce its qtr profit by 10% ....NOTE its ONLY one qtr. Of course the doom day would say other accounts like Erza Ezion etc ....wow all are DBS customer ? I agree that DBS would be affect but NOT as much as those doom day wishes  ( foreign firm wishes to down grade) Dont forget our banks are STILL SO MUCH BETTER THEN THEIRS AT HOME....lol
