x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Last year when i warned abt starhub and m1 here, some questioned my motive in a hostile manner. Since then till now, both had dropped $1. No point being stubborn if trends are there, free calls from Apps, free movie without paying monthly subscription and 4th telco coming. And i predicted TPG will win also. I warned abt this several times and not on hindsight. 1 person even very hostile to me. I hope he sold and not fall in love with his stock. If not, too bad. Since then i stopped visiting this blog because no point talking to ppl who are not objective at all. I just hv better emotional control and commonsense than some. Going forward....not good also. I still think TPG will make an impact here because i know them since some years ago from my work. Their backing is very strong and history had proved they were successful mostly when they venture. If they decide to come to SG, its probably not just to be a me-too presence. American venture capitalist. They will want to stand next to SingTel in a few years' time or even bigger. After i wrote this, some ppl will be mad at me again and may be challenge me to a fight. :) So just wait and see lor.

I wonder whether it is time for our telco companies to reinvent themselves to adapt to this next wave of online communication. As the world gets more connected through the internet, usage of traditional voice and roaming services may come under increased pressure. Continue to monitor the developments in Starhub this year esp. their mobile segment which is the biggest weight revenue contributor. Also, the entry of TPG Telecom is also worth noting to see what they have up their sleeves whether they are worth their salt to compete with the incumbents to roll out innovative value offerings.

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	There is a big diff in the industry they are in ...Wilmar much in a recovery of the commodity industry. ​ On the other hand....Starhub is in the telecom bz. ( purely Spore) ....and with a 4th telco plus the limited growth in Spore telecom industry ....I dont see catalyst for Starhub in the next 1/2 yrs at least. Maintaining its dividends need profit ....and if the 4th telco is coming in to have a mkt share....where do yu see prices moving .....DYODD.....I tend to see starhub downwards for at least the nex 6/12 mths unless they come up with something realy innovative.
