The recent news involving the global semiconductor chip shortage has spilled over to other industries from the automotive industry and we remain positive on this news development as it indicates strong demand in the industry.

Things should pick up from 2H21: Next-generation tools (3Q21-FY22) and potential new customers (FY22).  We believe next quarter&rsquo s results could continue to be muted due to its key customer transitioning from the old to new tools. Looking beyond 1H21, we believe AEM has a pipeline of catalysts going for them. In addition to the ramp-up of next generation of tools to its key customer from 3Q21, AEM could secure meaningful revenue from new potential customers.

It is currently in deep technical engagements with 10 of the top 20 semiconductor companies spanning IDM, fabless, and foundries, and it aims to achieve meaningful revenue from these engagements in FY22.  New customers and the consolidation of CEI&rsquo s financials could reduce AEM&rsquo s concentration risk to its key customer.

We believe our FY21F revenue projection of S$602m, which is above management&rsquo s guidance of S$460-520m, is justified.  We have projected higher revenue for AEM as we believe the industry momentum remains strong and that management is being conservative. In the last two years, management had raised its revenue guidance several times and the actual revenue was c.50-65% higher than its initial guidance.

Given the strong industry momentum and heavy investments from its key customer, we believe management could raise its revenue guidance for the remainder of FY21F. In 2019 and 2020, management raised its revenue guidance 3-4 times after the initial guidance in May.

AEM-acquired CEI to delist on July 6

Following the completion of the acquisition of dissenting shareholders' stakes by the offeror AEM Singapore on July 5, CEI will be delisted on July 6.

Contract manufacturer CEI was acquired by a wholly-owned firm of electronics services provider AEM Holdings at S$1.15 per share, with an option for shareholders to go for all cash or cash with new AEM shares.

As the compulsory acquisition of the stakes owned by the minority who did not accept the offer has been completed, CEI in a regulatory filing on Monday to the Singapore Exchange announced its delisting from the mainboard at 9 am on Tuesday.

AEM launched a S$99.7 million acquisition offer for CEI in January. It had said it planned to continue developing the business and did not intend to introduce any major changes.

AEM shares closed 0.26 per cent higher at S$3.92 on Monday.

Maybe a lot of people doing bit by bit selling, hencethe impression of quiet accumulation through bit by bit purchase
Isn' t that going to cost a lot more after adding up the transactions charges?

What kind of awareness can small retail buyers like us create btw? Lol

Actually there IS silent / quiet accumulation, where you buy in small bits so as not to arouse awareness. As opposed to ARK who buy in tens of millions at one go.
