The interesting thing about what is happening is not about CNMC itself. A junior miner like this with some promising (exciting) gold production potential is really the proxy to what is happening to gold. Gold price has been restricted unrealistically despite years of cheap printing of money (Quantitive Easing) and with the state of fiat money today, there is massive devaluation of any currency. Many people mistakenly think of gold as a commodity as for past decade gold and silver seemed subjected to " demand, supply and trading action" . The dynamics involved here can allow one to write a book. This is erroneous as gold in particular being the most stable element on earth that cannot be synthetically produced is the historical and ongoing store of real wealth. What countries like US did when they delinked backing of US dollar to gold is really to allow Feds print money at will. Same with ECB on the Euro or China Central Bank on the RMB. If only say 15% of US dollars out there is backed by gold, then gold should staggeringly be worth over USD 5,000 per oz. I am super summarizing the gold price call. What is always an uncertainly is the manner of the upward trajectory. Fiat money which is nothing more than a debt paper is really losing massive value. The reason gold now spike so massively and the trend continue relentlessly is how C-19 is creating massive economic uncertainties with massive pumping of money by central banks, coupled with increasing political tensions all over the world. Whether one intends to trade CNMC or other mining stocks (buy / sell) or just hold on to see how high it can go within a time horizon depends on one' s investment and risk profile. No right or wrong. I do wished I had put in more funds into GLD and CNMC and will certainly watch for pullbacks. My own expectation is gold should hit USD 2,500 per oz in 2021. By economic logic the gold run should be a multi year affair and new base prices should be set before any interim stablilty. All these seemed to signal a strong run for CNMC IF they can get their operational execution well managed. Let us see. Remarks : I am vested. Just sharing. My gold bull call may not pan out as I expect. Please DYODD and do not invest hard earned money on just immediate market sentiments alone. |
