Offers coming out of Indonesia are usually low ballers. What is worse, sometimes they are unwilling to fork out money to privatise. I remember one case where a takeover of TIH involves partially an issue of bonds rather than paying the full amount in cash.

Yes, you are right. But Widjaja family has controlled majority 78% of the company, also, we do not know the share float outside is in which party hand, probably all are in their hand. They can easily get green light in EGM.

Besides the 62.5 per cent stake in Gems, worth 26.1 trillion rupiah or S$2.3 billion based on the price of 7,100 rupiah, Gear owns 64 per cent of Australia-listed metallurgical coal supplier Stanmore Resources.
At current share price levels, that stake is worth about A$1.6 billion. Assuming the entire Stanmore stake were to be distributed to Gear shareholders, that works out to A$0.61 per share."
Add to this, the USD$0.11 per share valuation of Ravenstock and the smaller projects, the total value apart from GEMS shares is about A$0.61 + US$0.11 = $0.76 per share Golden is making an exit cash offer of $0.16 per share in exchange for $0.76 value per share of (Stanmore Resources, Ravenstock + others) I believe this is clearly smelly, unreasonable and not fair. Therefore, I truly seek an offer increase of $0.1 to $0.16 per share more at the least. Hopefully, there are some BBs who feel likewise.

There are still some small risks that it may not go through e.g. SGX discovering some foul play, for some reasons the vote does not go through ... I did buy 200 lots at 79 to invest like close to FD (because I am a mid-term investor, now know the stock and willing to bear the risks)

There could be a variety of reasons e.g. 1) Wanna deploy funds elsewhere 2) Make enough. Don' t want to wait another 4 to 6 mths to get the cash 3) Margin trading - better to close deal, with little upside remaining and long-time waiting 4) Cash out for holiday, other spendings ...
