Simply put:
Pay $1 and your returns is 9 years later $1.69797
You are paid in SIA shares.
You don't get compensated ( zero coupon) over the 9 years
What so difficult to understand?

It is not a right issue or warrant to buy shares 10 years later. Only the issuer can convert the MCB to shares. Dun TCSS if dunno. Go find out and understand clearly before open your big CB mouth to TC.

MAS yesterday has acknowledged the hot monies are flowing to Asia, including Singapore. With trillions pumping into the system by world CBs coupled with low interest rates, all asset classes will soar, as what we have seen now. |

The media has started to paint a very solid picture going forward. Covid is over and aviation sector will soar. Buy aviation stocks are best bet now as they are the cheapest. |

In the end, investors will be laughing to the bank. Sias is not reading correctly. All they hear are traders, not investors | ||||

Last time there were rights and MCB rights together. The cost then was very high. Many investors went into the market to buy the rights. The lowest price waa 0.47 and at the close was up 0.55 and buying was much higher. There was a huge demand for the rights. MCB was neglected. Hence Temasek was able to pick up so much. I for one took up all my MCB' s and I also bought so much more rights. That was how I averaged my cost down. This time there is no rights. Only MCB rights. I am thinking of picking up the MCB' s to subscribe. There will be a huge demand both from retail investors and BB as MCB is actually very attractive. You can see how the first tranche MCB hit 1.04 again. So if I read correctly there will be a demand. Since there is probably not enough to demand, MCB rights will trade up

SINGAPORE - Global air travel will bounce back strongly by 2023 as countries roll out Covid-19 vaccines and learn to manage the pandemic, noted the International Air Transport Association (Iata). It predicted that passenger numbers would recover to 52 per cent of pre-Covid levels by the end of this year, reach 88 per cent next year, and surpass pre-Covid levels by 5 per cent in 2023. https://www.straitstimes.com/business/economy/air-travel-will-bounce-back-strongly-by-2023-iata?utm_campaign=stfb& utm_medium=social& utm_source=facebook& fbclid=IwAR0n0T37GF6hIq9TKptEpGnYbNJwSBC3NIkNRZPCFUb0bISbPOZe9nJyeM4 Long to enjoy   |

This is not a joke at all. Sias is representing investors. MCB gives a chance for small and medium investors to invest in SIA. So why does Sias think we are not taking up the MCB? So why are we questioning how they manage the account? Are we going to be their auditor? |

MCB gives every shareholders a right to buy SIA shares at a price 10 years later.
It is a very fair scheme

SECURITIES Investors Association (Singapore) or Sias has questioned mainboard-listed Singapore Airlines (SIA) if it has considered privatisation to better manage its business and financial position.
The investor watchdog has written a letter to the flag-carrier airline, posing a string of questions triggered by SIA's recent announcement of the issuance of mandatory convertible bonds (MCBs) to raise a further S$6.2 billion. David Gerald, Sias chief executive, who penned the letter dated May 27, has asked if the route of privatisation like the one taken by land transport operator SMRT has crossed the mind of SIA's board. "Would this allow SIA to better manage its business and financial position?" |
