From market movement, we know it is just whether it a cheap privatisation by sia or better divestment by sia. Either way it good for parent sia but might suck for retail investors for sia eng.

Tiger was not a divestment nor consolidation. Tiger was bleeding and an eye-sore, and this was hidden under the rich parent. SIA Engineering has been and is still profitable. There is no reason to divest or privatize.   |

Share price at  recession level low even thougjh earnings is not that bad, oil price is low compared yoy but the effect is slow to reflect in earning due to the lag effect. SIA had basically streamlined almost all aspect of it business, privatisation of tigerair, consolidation of scoot and tiger, sia cargo consolidation into parent and lastly silkair consolidation this year. All it subsidaries companies had in one way privatised or another, leaving the sticking point of it non core business sia eng still intact. It might be the last push to complete it transformation plan. SIA not known to pay high for privatisation just need to look at tigerair u known, a divestment would be better for both sia eng and parent investor as higher price offered by third party. Today is general market pullback after rate cut disappointment.

Don' t think SIA Engineering would privatise or divest. SIA has to take control of this important asset to maintian its high safety standards. Soon the rumor will be quashed.   |

To add on, NOL sold off based on 1x book value valuation. Most investors get burned on that and temasek also loses. If SIA divest off SIA eng, high chance got special dividend loh lol. Maybe they sell it to ST eng to integrate MRO operation between st aerospaces and sia eng.

Very scary similarity to NOL pre divestion to france carrier. NOL undego 3 years of cost cutting and renew it entire fleet. Then It non core logistic arm APL logistic got sold off, immediately followed by it eventually sale to france carrier with added condition to direct more cargo to sg terminal. The process is damn too strikely similar, just take note if sia eng eventually get sold off. SIa 3 years of transformation, undergo fleet renewal and sia eng divestment keep popping out these few years. Thunder strike twice lol

Just take note, our sg government is on reform mode. Selling NOL to France carriers to boost our new tuas terminals output long term. With T5 incoming so where in a few years and china one belt one road, sg airport would face more competition. To ensure traffic growth for expanded changi terminal, do not be surprised if temasek sold off SIA to third party for more traffic growth. Sticking point is SIA eng as it is listed and form non core revenue of sia grp. Once SIA eng got sold off to third party if happen, SIA would be left with it core business of airline operation which would be easily priced to be sold off or privatosation by temasek.

I doubt provatisation would happen. SIA Engineering is an integral part of SIA, inseparable. Outsourcing of this important aircraft maintemance to a 3rd party is a no no to SIA. It is also generating good revenue for SIA, as other airlines take SIA endorsement of SIA Engineering as a hallmark.   |

Watch out for SIA eng new, either a privatisation or divestment by SIA would lift this boat. Might lead to temasak privatisation or divestment of it stake in SIA when it finally get rid or consolidate it non core SIA eng business. SMRT and NOL had been taken out and left so,e remaining SIA.

DBS 21 May 19   report : TP of S$10.80, Good Dividend! May/April 2019 Operating Results Impressive! Source:  https://www.dbs.com.sg/treasures/aics/templatedata/article/equity/data/en/DBSV/012014/SIA_SP.xml Transformation Working Well (Cut Cost and increase Revenue)  DBS 21 May Report:  Maintain BUY with TP of S$10.80. We believe that SIA&rsquo s transformation programme is beginning to make a material difference in helping the group&rsquo s earnings recover, with revenue growth finally returning after years of stagnation and cost management efforts also bearing fruit. This was evident as SIA posted a stronger profit performance in the second half of FY19 compared to the first half. We project SIA&rsquo s profitability to improve in FY20 as the transformation programme continues. Where we differ: We have higher-than-consensus forecasts as we are positive on SIA&rsquo s transformation programme paying off. Potential catalysts: SIA&rsquo s share price should re-rate as its earnings continue to show signs of recovery.  Undemanding valuations. The stock is currently trading at around 0.8x FY20F P/BV, which is c. -1.5 SD against its 10-year average and with a decent prospective yield of 3.2%. May 2019 Operating Results : Very Good  https://links.sgx.com/FileOpen/opstats-may... April 2019 Operating Results : Very Good  https://links.sgx.com/FileOpen/opstats-apr... June 2019: June holidays (Expect Strong performance) Impressive - > Do the math from last year results to this quarter results :  Last year results:  https://links.sgx.com/FileOpen/Results%20F... Why Impressive? (Note last year Revenue Increased but cost was exceptional high) So Why cost so high last year?  So many brands, staff, fuel price high, financing cost high(Scoot, silkair, tigerair,SIA) -> Cost high  Mitigation(Why i believe cost has decreased):  All coming together as one umbrella brand -> SIA , cost synergies in units,self-checkout, Fed Cut, fuel went down  ..  Possible Cost Savings:  1. Simplified model:  https://www.mumbrella.asia/2019/05/tigerai...  2. Cargo SIA & Malaysia airline possible tie-up  https://sg.news.yahoo.com/brief-singapore-...  3. Some analyst speculate that SIA engineering might go privatisation (Cost savings)
