x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	It' s more likely the expectation that FED will normalise interest rates sooner rather than later after Trump' s election, created by the perception that his stimulus measures will stoke inflation to FED' s 2% target faster than they had figured it wld prior to his election.  If we have noticed, USD to SGD = 1.427 now.  Before Trump, it was ard 1.35/36.  So, SGD is  abt 5% down v USD since 8 Nov.  This has lead to  a firmer  SIBOR, translating into fatter NIM for local bks going forward.  I' d  also posted in the DBS thread over the wkend my own speculation that with the govt  announcing a lifeline for the cash  strapped OnG sector, there cld well be a  perception that the local  bks might now be spared from a lot more huge provisionings for their OnG portfolio.  To me, it' s more  likely that these are probably the factors in play.  I doubt if it' s the UE play cos the other  two bks also running wild ....
