CDG, Primech A& P and their respective consortium partners were chosen after agencies assessed proposals based on a price-quality method.

 

COMFORTDELGRO Engineering and its consortium partner ENGIE South East Asia have won Singapore' s electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure pilot tender awarded by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) and Land Transport Authority (LTA).

 

ComfortDelGro Engineering is a wholly-owned subsidiary of land transport operator ComfortDelGro (CDG) ComfortDelGro: C52 -1.24%, while ENGIE South East Asia operates as a cluster under ENGIE Asia Pacific, an energy and services company in Singapore.

 

Both will set up EV charging points in participating public car parks in the Central, East and West regions with payable concession fees at a tender price of 14.4 Singapore cents, 10.8 cents and 15.4 cents, respectively, per kilowatt hour (kWh).

 

A   tender to install EV charging infrastructure for participating car parks in the North and North-East regions was awarded to Primech A& P and its consortium partners Charge+, Sunseap Group, and Oyika. Each region bears concession fees of 15 cents per kWh.

 

In a joint press statement on Friday, URA and LTA said the awarded tenders will see the deployment of more than 600 EV chargers at over 200 participating public car parks across Singapore' s Central, East, West, North, and North-East regions such as public housing and industrial estates, public parks, community centres and the Central Business District over the next 12 months.

 

This will significantly increase the current number of EV charging points deployed islandwide and contribute towards the national target to deploy 40,000 charging points in public car parks by 2030, they said.

 

CDG, Primech A& P and their respective consortium partners were chosen after agencies assessed proposals based on a price-quality method, which takes into account both price and non-price attributes in tender evaluation.

 

" Besides having competitive charging rates and a sustainable business model, (the CDG and Primech A& P consortiums are) committed to delivering a complete suite of services, which includes the installation, operation and maintenance of EV charging infrastructure, as well as trialling innovative solutions to optimise available electrical load and address usage issues such as lot hogging," noted URA and LTA in their joint statement.

 

" The keen industry participation in this pilot tender demonstrates strong interest by the private sector to play a part in shaping Singapore' s EV landscape," they added.

 

The authorities said they intend to work closely with both companies and their consortium partners to deploy the EV charging stations at their allotted car parks. The charging stations are expected to be installed and operational by Q3 of 2022.
