Seatrium delivers largest self-propelled trailing suction hopper dredge in the US
Shipyard Seatrium has announced the successful delivery of the largest self-propelled trailing suction hopper dredge in the US, the FREDERICK PAUP, for Manson Construction Co.

To be deployed in Mobile, Alabama, the Jone Act-compliant vessel will contribute to the country' s navigation channels, beach nourishment and coastal restoration projects as well as supporting the US Army Corps goal of achieving 70% beneficial reuse of dredged material by 2030. A Jones Act-compliant vessel is a ship built in the US, 75%-owned by US citizens, crewed by a majority of US citizens and flagged in the country.

At 420 feet in length, 81 feet wide and capacity of more than 15,000 cubic yards, the vessel is equipped with 25,000 horsepower, triple azimuthing stern drives and twin bow thrusters that enable self-propulsion.

Smart features including dynamic positioning, power management and integrated dredging systems are also installed on FREDERICK PAUP. Tier 4 diesel-electric engines and an advanced hull form that improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions round up the state-of-the-art components of the vessel.

Seatrium was responsible for hull fabrication, systems integration, commissioning and vessel completion and says that it was able to manage the " highly intricate" supply chain of components for the project.

Arbitration noise? weighs over Seatrium but CGSI and Citi keep positive calls
Fri, Jan 23, 2026 ? 02:59 PM GMT+08 ? 3 min read ?Arbitration noise? weighs over Seatrium but CGSI and Citi keep positive calls Seatrium says that there is mutual desire for these differences to be ?amicably resolved? by an independent tribunal. CGS International and Citi Research have maintained their respective positive calls on Seatrium after news that Norwegian company Aibel AS, its partner for the DolWin 5 project, has filed arbitration proceedings on Seatrium, claiming EUR113 million. In return, Seatrium has filed its own claim of EUR 180 million on Aibel too. CGS International analyst Lim Siew Khee and Meghana Kande remain steadfast in their ?add? call and unchanged target price of $2.67 for Seatrium while Citi?s Luis Hilado reiterates his ?buy? rating with an unchanged target price of $2.65. In its Jan 22 filing, Seatrium says it is in disagreement with Aibel over the direct scopes of work and allocation of scope responsibilities for the DolWin 5 project. |

Seatrium unit faces 130 million euros in claims from consortium partner amid arbitration proceedings
The company is unable to ascertain the financial impact arising from the proceedings

[SINGAPORE] Seatrium New Energy (SNE), a wholly owned subsidiary of Seatrium, and Norwegian energy services firm Aibel have filed arbitration proceeds in relation to a consortium formed for a converter platform project.

The parties are disputing the distribution of revenue and costs incurred in relation to the project to design, engineer, construct and install a 900 megawatt offshore converter platform for the end-customer TenneT Offshore, said Seatrium on Thursday (Jan 22).

They have also lodged claims against one another for breaches concerning the scope of works and disagreements regarding the allocation of responsibilities under the project, and have agreed to file their arbitration requests to the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce&rsquo s arbitration institute.

SNE is seeking a payment of 180 million euros from Aibel and faces claims of around 130 million euros from its consortium partner.

&ldquo The requests for arbitration arise out of differences between the parties under the consortium agreement, and the mutual desire for those differences to be amicably resolved by an independent tribunal,&rdquo Seatrium said.

&ldquo SNE will prosecute and protect its position and, where appropriate, will vigorously defend Aibel&rsquo s claims,&rdquo the group said.

Notwithstanding the commencement of proceedings, the parties are continuing to work on the project, with delivery targeted for 2026, said Seatrium. The converter platform is currently in Germany&rsquo s North Sea.

The financial impact arising from the proceedings will depend on the outcome of the arbitration, said Seatrium.

The group added that it is currently &ldquo unable to definitively ascertain the financial impact, if any&rdquo , given that the arbitration proceedings are at a preliminary stage.

The dispute
The consortium agreement had outlined various scopes of work &ndash some of which was to be executed jointly while others were to be implemented on a solo basis.

Seatrium said that the design of the converter platform, which was provided by Aibel, underwent multiple changes and was not finalised in a timely manner, whereas SNE fulfilled its individual scope of work in Singapore.

Both parties agreed that Aibel would take responsibility for works under SNE&rsquo s individual scope that were uncompleted as at October 2023 &ndash when the platform sailed away from SNE&rsquo s Singapore yard &ndash as a result of its delay in finalising the design, Seatrium said.

In relation to their claims against one another for breaches concerning individual scopes of work, SNE and Aibel are seeking payment demands of around 180 million euros and 113 million euros, respectively, from each other.

According to preliminary advice SNE has received, claims under the consortium agreement that relate to individual scopes of work &ndash to the extent that they are valid &ndash must be satisfied using the consortium&rsquo s reserve of funds.

Moreover, these claims cannot exceed five million euros to avoid further financial exposure for either party, Seatrium said.

Aibel has also made a claim of around 17 million euros from SNE in relation to issues over both parties&rsquo joint scopes of work, Seatrium said. SNE is contesting the validity of this claim and seeking clarification on the parties&rsquo obligations and liabilities under the consortium.

10:08 PM EST, 01/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Seatrium's (SGX:5E2) subsidiary, Seatrium New Energy, and its consortium partner, Aibel AS, mutually agreed to file arbitration proceedings in relation to a consortium agreement linked with an offshore converter platform project named DolWin 5.
Under the consortium agreement, Seatrium Energy fulfilled its direct scope, while Aible was unable to achieve timely design freeze, with multiple changes to its design. Therefore, the parties mutually agreed to file respective requests for arbitration to the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce. Both parties have made demands each other, with Seatrium Energy claiming 180 million euros, while Aibel claiming 113 million euros. Moreover, Abel is claiming 17 million euros, maintaining that certain matters fall within the joint scope of the parties, which Seatrium Energy is contesting. |
