The ppl who decide what dividend to give will be the Chairman and the CEO.. and not CFO although he got the PL numbers etc. The amount to give will depend on their growth plans and capex needed.. It means more Capex, less dividend or more Dividend, less capex (capex generate more growth in simple term). Some ppl prefer one over the other.. Either way should be fine as long there are lots of profits generated these couple of years. Est net profits 2020 about USD130m (or much more) which will be known soon. For 2021, it will not be less, based on the persistent huge demands and their OBM selling model and expansion plans to go global. Trading at 3x PE or CEO buy price is too cheap to ignore. The best is yet to come. HUAT to all in 2021.

no motivation for company to give more dividend.. no major shareholders who hold large percentage... most of the shares in BBs hands.. anyone got any thoughts?

Think likely next week. Result will likely be as expected, eps for FY around 33c. Not expecting div to be more than 1-2c, cos the CFO seems like quite stingy, tho the Chairman and son like quite generous. Confirmation of its earnings shd attract more institutional and fund buying, tho BBs may manipulate a lid to allow their cahoots to snap low. Anyway, not advisable to contra with such BBs in command lah, unless they want to donate to them.  So not expecting any fireworks, unless the CFO is under strict instruction to up the div to at least 5c. (Think CFO got no hew about div cos he like no own any share, so no div for him anyway.)

Medtecs results report normally out on second half of Feb and on a Thurs.. It may come out this Thurs 18th or next Thurs 25th.. Mkt seems not convinced or impressed so far .. DBS and all will be surprised this time? Hold tight for their coming results and see how they fare.. HUAT to all.

Virus expected to last long-term despite global vaccine rollout: ECDC chief
The head of the EU' s disease control agency warned Friday (Feb 12) that the novel coronavirus could last indefinitely even as global infections slowed by nearly half in the last month and vaccine rollouts gathered pace in parts of the world.
In an interview with AFP, ECDC chief Andrea Ammon urged European countries in particular not to drop their guard against a virus that " seems very well adapted to humans" and may require experts to tweak vaccines over time, as is the case with the seasonal flu.
Writing in an open letter published in the Lancet medical journal, the authors said with vaccine stockpiling in wealthier countries, " it could be years before the coronavirus is brought under control at a global level" .
The warning came as US vaccine maker Moderna said it was seeking clearance with regulators around the world to put 50 per cent more coronavirus vaccine into each of its vials as a way to quickly boost current supply levels.
In Britain, a marked drop in infections and accelerating vaccinations have prompted some within the governing Conservative Party to push for stay-at-home rules to be lifted in early March.

Personally I think dividend wont be high. But I am more interested in their surprise upside earnings. As DBS report its 130m is at least! I' m am hopeful that it will come in breaking this record. Just vested today! Good luck and Happy New Year!

When their CEO William Yang gave two presentations at UOB and POEMS, thought that Medtecs IR will go into full swing into their IR. But alas, the swing was only in that 2 swings, thereafter, no more swing seen. Old habits hard to change lah. Got IR, no IR like no diff. Whatodo? PE aound 3.1 also cannot jalan.

Some forumers have raised some pertinent questions: 1) Is US factory for real? 2) Is mainboard listing for real? 3) Is dividend payout believable? Trust, communication and reputation are definitely keys to long term sustainability of the company. So the company or their PR company should take all these into considerations in their next upcoming annoucement to maintain investors' interest in their shares and ensure their long term growth. Our own due diligence can only go so far to justify staying vested. |
