Just look at the PM, the Ministers, I think they are under great pressure to explain how and why Singapore has ended up in such state of affairs. Inside and outside of Singapore, everyone is watching and waiting for them to act. Will they act? Today is Friday. Lets see. Conman      ( Date: 21-Sep-2021 18:17) Posted: Guru, I am pessimistic over how this Covid is managed but I am not sad. Whether the gov wants to change its strategy will not affect me. But just look the those Ministers handling it, I think they are all burnt out to the limits. Yesterday the numbers were down to just below 1000 already you can see people cheering. The numbers can be down to zero tomorrow if we stop testing today. You believe Indonesia only has 1000+ cases a day? Same logic here. The virus has already spread widely in the community. I suspect that for every one case detected, there are probably another 10 undetected and they continue to spread and multiply. Is there an end-date when we can declare that the Covid problem is resolved and we need not do testing and report the numbers to WHO? According to the Minister, A&E and normal wards are already over-loaded and patients have to be sent home to 'recover'. Tan Tok Seng is building wards in the carparks. Manpower to handle the checks, testing, treatment, nursing etc are strained to the now. The main part of the check which were supposed to start last Monday 13 Sep weekly just cannot start because of shortage of manpower. How many people are waoting for the check? Maybe half a million, and once a week! Take a look of China, people needed no masks already for the last nearly one year. New Zealand still take pride of her strict and successful control. Hk is probably frowning at us everyday. Want to have a bubble holiday with HK? They dont event want to talk! Ow we only have 1,000 a day. What if we have 3,200 cases a day and the number is maintainrd for one month? Can we just give up checking and testing and declare zero case and report it to WHO? Entropy72      ( Date: 21-Sep-2021 16:45) Posted: Too pessimistic.  The current home recovery protocol is one major step towards endemic.  Instead of recovering in hospital, patients with no / mild symptoms simply isolate and recover at home, like normal flu.  The only difference is the family of the patient also has to isolate due to QO imposed.  Otherwise, we are living with COVID-19 like normal flu albeit still having to wear mask and adopt safe distancing. With the large majority of COVID-19 patients settled via home recovery, the risk to manage are those unvaccinated minority who have higher chance of developing serious illness requiring oxygenation or ICU.  Buiding up our ICU capacity while nudging all to be vaccinated over next 2-3 months will allow us to celebrate Christmas a much happier nation
