Below are what Panda understood from the prce/volume realationship.  Start from the LHS of the chart -  First section : Divergence in price and volume (Long arrows pointed in difference direction)   > Short covering by the pros / monkeys Second section : Convergence in price and volume (Short arrows pointed to down direction) > Selling continued, probably by the retail investor or shortist. But, the selling strength was weaken, price continued to fall.  Third section : Price at bottom and volume also dried up. > Selling was over.  Fourth section :  Convergence in price and volume (short arrows pointed up) > Buyers came in for " bottom fishing or picked durians" , and pushed up the price from day low. Fifth section : Divergence in price and volume ( short arrows pointed in different direction) > Consolidation after price ran up. Price stablized, some selling signs were seen from the shape of the price bars. It could be profit taking for day traders, and maybe, some shortists tried their luck to fire another round of shorting.  The price might pull back to re-test the day low tomorrow, price may get supported if there is no more new round of heavy selling come in tomorrow. DYODD. It would be better and more convincing if it happened on daily chart. x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	SIA M5 chart Actually, " Fei Lau" is able to " guess" the change in trend direction on SIA much early, around 11.25AM, using another more aggressive trading strategy. Hahaha.... Panda missed all these signals because Panda was working on another trading strategy at that time. Looked like " National team" came in to kick the ball higher today for National Day celebration. Just guessing only. DYODD.

" Fei Lau" shot a " Short" arrow on Ms. Na while she was strolling in the park " bounded range" together with her boyfirend. It seem that " Fei Lau" was a bit jealousand fired the wrong shot. Your question is when to SHORT or LONG?  You means when to cut your hair short, or keep your long hair? Hehehe...... Ok... Let' s be serious. Your question should be, when to go LONG or SHORT a stock?  The answer is actually simple but not easy to do it. You SHORT a stock when the stock price is falling, and LONG a stock when the stock price is rising.  Next you have to understand the stock trend usually in 3 forms, up (rising), down(falling), and sideway(ranging). And in..... 1) Trending market - Up and Down   LONG when the stock price starts to move up, and SHORT when the stock price starts to move down. This kind of trending market is easier to trade, and you can use trending indicators like 2 x moving average, either simple moving Average(SMA) or Exponential moving Average(EMA). One with longer MA period as main cycle trend indicator, and the other use shorter MA period as signal trend indicator. If the shorter trend indicator crosses up the main cycle trend indicator and stay above, which is " golden cross" go LONG. and vice versa, if the signal trend indicator goes below main cycle trend indicator and stay below, which is " dead cross" , go SHORT. this kind of simple MA strategy can give you typically 50-80% profit from the trend, depend on your MA period settings and the pattern of the up/down trend. but, it would give you many false LONG and SHORT signals when there is no obvious trend direction, i.e. ranging or sideway. People also used MACD indicator as " confirmation" indicator on top of 2x MA strategy.  2) Ranging market - sideway This usually mean the stock price is fluctuating/oscillating between two price level. or bounded range for consolidation, until it breaks out from this bounded range, move up or down and starts a new trend. During the sideway movement, the upper price level is called resistance level, and the lower price level is called support level. Since the stock price stops at the resistance as well as the support level,and then retreat, so, the famous words in trading " BUY LOW SELL HIGH" can be applied. i.e. LONG near/at the support, and SHORT near/at the resistance. Usually, oscillating indicators like RSI, Stochastic are used to determine whether the stock is " oversold" (below 20/30 level), or " overbought" (above 70/80 level). Remember, start to LONG or SHORT only when the stock price is moving away from the support level or resistance level respectively.  Stop loss is alway necessary for trading in trending or ranging markets, to close your trade in case the price movement does not go according to you trade, whether it is LONG or SHORT to keep your loss within the planned trading cost.    Hope you can understand.  If you cannot understand, don' t scratch your head. It may be due to Panda' s " Ang Mo 2" is not good enough. Hahaha......

It would be good to add trendlines to see where are the support and resistance, also the chart formation like Head and Shoulder, double top, double bottom and etc. to " know" is there any possible tren reversal or not.
