Exactly. Kepcorp still holding around 3% of Seatrium shares. They need to sell in order to turn it into cash thus will depress the Seatrium share price. Its interesting to see when they will start unloading again.

i quote this from today' s BT online edition: Seatrium&rsquo s executives were tight-lipped on the provisions, writedowns and expenses related to the merger that were in the pipeline. Tan said the merger expenses primarily comprise professional fees for the combination, as well as &ldquo transformation and integration costs&rdquo . tight-lipped? Why? What nonsense is this? No auditors? Whilst Seatrium must provide for goodwill and merger costs, Keppel meanwhile celebrates with a $3.3 billion (b) profit from the merger. Isn' t it clear which party benefits most from the merger? |

 Quoted : We current have a BUY call with TP of 18 Scts based on 1.5x PB. More update to follow post results briefing later morning. DBS always gives very low TP also gives 18 Cents. Now it is only 142/143 Cents. Still much room for SP to move up.

Update flash note from DBS: < Results Analysis> Promising 1H23 operating turnaround
Seatrium (STM) reported 1H23 results this morning. Here is the results first take: *1H23 core operating results seem rather encouraging with net loss before provisions coming in at S$33m, better than ours and market expectations of > S$50m. *EBITDA turns positive S$258m, a strong reversion from breakeven last year, partly aided by claims for cost incurred relating to rigs sold to AssetCo, which offset the higher interest cost. *Provision for contracts & merger expenses amounted to c. S$231m, resulting in headline net losses of S$264m. While the provision made was higher than our expectation of 100-200m, we believe market has braced for a kitchen-sink 1H, and probably see this as &ldquo the worst is behind STM&rdquo and well on track for recovery hereon. *As such, we believe share price will likely held steady post results. In the event of any price correction as market misread the big headline losses, BUY on dips! *Strong order wins of S$4.3bn in 1H2023, resulting in net orderbook of S$19.7bn (incl S$0.7bn of repairs & upgrades projects). *Renewable and cleaner/green solutions form 40% of Groups net orderbook. *Net gearing is low at 0.17x, down from 0.26x as of end 2022. There was a free cash outflow of S$173m in 1H23, We current have a BUY call with TP of 18 Scts based on 1.5x PB. More update to follow post results briefing later morning. |

This is a better statement. However, if you study up Sembcorp Marine last 3 years statements, you will realise, the lesser the net orders, the lesser will be the revenue, leading to the lesser EBITDA, and causing the greater net lost. In opposite, the more selective and careful tendering, the more Green and good contracts achieve, with proper execution of contracts, the more will be the incoming profit this type of SOP and practice apply to all industries to secure business and profit. The profit or cash don' t drop from the sky, the company need to have good business plan. Investor buying Seatrium is for long term on its prospect else you are correct not to buy, subject to interval review. To each his own. Happy Investing.

Funds are invested not just for 1 to 2 days, it is for long term and Seatrium is one of the STI index stocks with 2.2% weightage. The SP will continue to move up. Some analysts already forcasted that there will be losses for Q2 and even with that, they have advised clients to add some more based on current SP.

Now almost all the doom sayers are out to push down the SP if they really have the power to do so. BB will collect cheap2 based on TP. It is just knee jerk reaction. The SP will move up once the knee jerk reaction is over. Hold on to the shares tight2 and wait for the rebounce. Those who hope to make profits from short selling may be dispointed. | ||||

In the long term they should be doing fine that is after 3+ years. They are not in the " GREEN" industry yet though it it progressing in that direction. Recently they got financing from OCBC for 3 over billion " GREEN" loan but the majority of the contracts are not " GREEN" and financing would be very difficult from institutions. So the obivious is going to happen sooner or later and shareholders will be called for for this. That' s my take on this and Co' s in the related field. All the best guys. | ||||
