well, sgx has come out with the MTP thinking that it will reduce volatility with the higher share price as pennies are more frequent to be played by traders.. seems like JEP management also believe in same useless way as what sgx thinks.. they do not play stock market & do not know how market behave here.. as what is pointed out, most companies that do share consolidatation somehow have stock price that does not perform, while those that split shares has performed better (eg mm2, best world, AEM).. but putting that irrationality sg market behavior aside,  share consolidation  does not actually reduce volatility when u consolidate.. with less number of shares, each bid takes less volume to move.. so end up the same way.. look at those counters with low shares (eg Creative), so easy to push up & down the price if traders are inside.. it could be possible though that it can attract long term investment from  institutions if the counter is not a penny

 Alert Admin 		Jep management should consult forumers here about share consolidation before they announce it lol. The other term for share consolidation is shareholders value destruction lol. 9 out of 10 companies that consolidate has their share value destroyed eventually by shorters. They borrowed and short till no end . Well done JEP.

 Alert Admin 		Market don't like share consolidation. Many counters goes into oblivion post consolidation, although they could be in the top volume previously.

Price movements will be 0.5 cent instead of 0.1 cent and every tick up or down will be magnified by 2.5x

JEP Holdings proposes share consolidation exercise



JEP Holdings on Monday proposed to undertake a share consolidation exercise to consolidate every four existing ordinary shares in the capital of the company into one ordinary share.

Post-consolidation, each shareholder of the company will receive one consolidated share for every four existing shares held prior to the consolidation as at the books closure date that will be announced later.

The solution provider of precision machining and engineering services said that it believes the move will reduce the volatility of the share price and create more market interest and attractiveness of the company and its shares.

The number of consolidated shares which shareholders will be entitled to, based on their holdings of existing shares as at the books closure date, will be rounded down to the nearest whole consolidated share and any fractions of a consolidated share arising from consolidation will be disregarded.

A shareholder who holds less than four existing shares will not be entitled to any consolidated share and will no longer be a shareholder upon completion of the exercise, JEP said.
The company will be holding an extraordinary general meeting to get shareholders' approval for the proposed consolidation.


JEP closed unchanged at S$0.084 on Monday.
