Seatrium marks sailaway of two FPSOs for longtime customer Petrobras, which sees more collaboration opportunities Seatrium marked on Aug 27 another milestone in its three-decade-long relationship with its customer Petrobras, Brazil&rsquo s national oil company. At Seatrium&rsquo s Tuas Boulevard Yard, the two companies held the christening ceremony for two floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels built by Seatrium for Petrobras. When deployed, P-80 and P-82, said to be among the largest FPSOs ever built, can help lift Brazil&rsquo s national oil production by 10%. In what Seatrium calls an industry first, the two vessels will set sail within weeks. The pair will be deployed at the Bú zios field, one of the world&rsquo s largest deepwater oil fields and one of Brazil&rsquo s most important oil producing assets. P-80 and P-82 are set to be the ninth and 10th FPSOs producing in the Bú zios field development, respectively. Each vessel is designed to produce 225,000 barrels of oil per day and process 12 million cubic metres of gas per day. When operational, P-80 and P-82 will together add 450,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd), or an increase of around 34% to the installed production capacity to the Bú zios field. Each vessel also has water injection capacity of approximately 250,000 bopd as well as oil storage capacity of around 2.5 million barrels each. The two FPSOs are the 47th and 48th projects undertaken by Seatrium for Petrobras. Following the sailaway of P-78 in 2025, these vessels are also the second and third turnkey FPSOs under the P-Series model commissioned by Petrobras with Seatrium, marking the evolution of the latter&rsquo s capabilities from repair and upgrade works, module fabrication, and FPSO integration to end-to-end execution of some of the world&rsquo s largest and most complex floating production assets. These vessels are among a broader programme of six FPSO units Seatrium is concurrently managing for Petrobras that will provide around 1.3 million bopd of combined oil production capacity when they come onstream. This is equivalent to approximately 30% of Brazil&rsquo s average daily oil production of 4.5 million bopd in June 2026. Chris Ong, Seatrium&rsquo s CEO, says that over the last three decades, Seatrium has evolved alongside Petrobras&rsquo needs to support its ambitions to be a global energy leader. &ldquo The sailaway of P-80 and P-82 in close succession is a significant demonstration of that evolution, as we take the learnings to execute strongly for the three remaining P-Series FPSOs in our facilities.&rdquo &ldquo Along with the oil they will produce, these platforms will bring to Brazil the results of a strong partnership between Petrobras and Seatrium, between Brazil and Singapore &mdash and they are further proof of just how fruitful this partnership has been,&rdquo says Petrobras president Magda Chambriard. When asked by The Edge Singapore about the potential of future collaborations under Petrobras' new build-order-transfer model, Chambriard says that the new model improves capital discipline and adds: " Seatrium is part of this journey of Petrobras in Brazil in the petroleum sector. We' ve been partners for more than 30 years and we hope to see Seatrium and lots of other opportunities in Brazil together with us as they' ve been staying for a long time." For context, contracts for previous Petrobras FPSO projects were under an engineering, procurement and construction model (or slight variation of it), which Seatrium could directly bid for by itself. Under the new BOT model, Seatrium has to join a consortium which is spearheaded by a lead tenderer to bid for projects. Seatrium has invested nearly $2 billion in building local capabilities in Brazil since 1999. Operating three yards with more than 12,000 employees and a " robust" local supply chain, Seatrium says that it remains " well-positioned" to support Petrobras and the continued development of Brazil' s offshore energy sector. |

Seatrium, Petrobras eye potential natural gas collaboration to meet growing Asian demand [SINGAPORE] Brazilian oil giant Petrobras and offshore and marine player Seatrium are discussing a potential tie-up to explore offshore solutions in natural gas, said Magda Chambriard and Chris Ong, the respective CEOs of Petrobras and Seatrium, on Thursday (Aug 27).  They were speaking at a media briefing following the christening ceremony for two floating production storage and offloading project (FPSO) vessels, that will soon set sail for Brazil&rsquo s deepwater Buzios oil field.  Chambriard noted that she is in discussions with Ong about how Seatrium can support Petrobras in &ldquo the challenge to liquefy gas offshore&rdquo and be part of the exportation of gas to Asia and other markets.  &ldquo We export a lot of crude oil (to the) Asia-Pacific &ndash it is our first destination, and when we look forward, we see that maybe it will be the first destination for gas as well,&rdquo she said, noting the region&rsquo s gas demand is the fastest growing globally. Ong added that the liquefied natural gas (LNG) market is something that Seatrium is &ldquo very focused upon&rdquo .    &ldquo We will not only (have) FPSOs&hellip we hope to see many other assets that we are able to put our people (and) the mix of our capabilities together to enable the economics of that part of the supply chain,&rdquo he said.  During the company&rsquo s earnings briefing for the first half ended Jun 30, Ong noted growing demand for offshore solutions in natural gas. This came as the Middle East conflict led to tighter LNG supply and underscored the need for energy security.  Ong previously highlighted growing demand for floating liquefied natural gas platforms (FLNG) and floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs) in particular. FLNG units extract natural gas from undersea deposits and liquefy it, while FSRU vessels store LNG and convert it back into gaseous form for usage. Continued collaboration  Both companies announced on Thursday that two FPSOs, Petrobras 80 and Petrobras 82, are expected to set sail for Brazil&rsquo s Buzios oil field in September and October respectively.  After a journey of around 70 days, they are expected to begin production in the first half of 2027. The vessels have a production scale capable of lifting Brazil&rsquo s national oil production by 10 per cent. The FPSOs each have an oil storage capacity of around 2.5 million barrels and are each designed to produce 225,000 barrels of oil and process 12 million cubic metres of gas per day.  When operational, they are expected to add 450,000 barrels of oil per day, or an approximately 34 per cent increase to the installed production capacity to the Buzios field.  These vessels are among a broader programme of six FPSO units that Seatrium is concurrently managing for Petrobras. These will provide approximately 1.3 million barrels of oil per day in total when they come onstream. This is equivalent to roughly 30 per cent of Brazil&rsquo s average daily oil production of 4.5 million barrels of oil per day as at June 2026.  Since establishing its presence in Brazil in 1999, Seatrium has invested nearly S$2 billion in building local capabilities and supporting the country&rsquo s offshore energy industry. Meanwhile, the company recently resolved a long-standing legal issue tied to Brazil&rsquo s 2014 Operation Car Wash corruption scandal. Following investigations by Singapore&rsquo s Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau that began in 2023, the Singapore High Court approved a deferred prosecution agreement earlier this year. Under the settlement, Seatrium will pay US$57 million to local authorities and will not face criminal prosecution in Singapore. |

Golar confirm order to CIMC FLNG conversion worth US2.45B, Seatrium LOI from Golar if worth at least 50% of CIMC order, it will be at least S1.5B and also base on past timeline of tennet awarding order to Seatrium, another HVDC order award should be by end Sep. Heavy buy for short term 😂 | ||||

CGSI reiterates Seatrium optimism, raises target to $2.6 Coming after Seatrium signed a letter of intent (LOI) with repeat customer Golar LNG to advance a potential third floating liquified natural gas (FLNG) conversion project, CGS International (CGSI) reiterated its confidence in Seatrium in an Aug 24 report. Increasing their FY2026-2027 EPS estimates by 1-8% and order win forecast for the offshore and marine giant to $6 billion from the previous $4.3 billion, analysts Meghana Kande and Lim Siew Khee are valuing Seatrium at $2.60, up from the previous $2.52, while keeping their &ldquo buy&rdquo rating. Kande and Lim believe that the Golar LOI signifies that customers are more willing to commit to investment decisions despite ongoing geopolitical volatility. They think that some of Seatrium&rsquo s floating storage and regasification units (FSRU) conversion bids, including two Karpowership LOIs, could also convert into final contracts in the second-half of the year. Other gas-related opportunities they see for Seatrium include module fabrication for LNG from the US market and floating liquified natural gas (FLNG) newbuild or conversion projects in the &ldquo emerging&rdquo African market. The offshore wind market also offers opportunities although Kande and Lim note that investment decisions for upcoming offshore wind high voltage direct current (HVDC) projects in Europe will likely only be made earliest in 2027. Locally, completion of Keppel&rsquo s legacy rigs could be a potential opportunity for Seatrium, suggest the analysts, who believe Seatrium has scope for ad-hoc projects as the $32 billion pipeline the firm is pursuing comprises only advanced-stage projects. Kande and Lim see room for higher margins as Seatrium has become more discerning and is targeting projects with mid-teens margins. Furthermore, from planned divestments amounting to $200 million, the analysts expect operational cost savings of $50 million, in addition to the $50 million from earlier divestments. Viewing Seatrium as a beneficiary of heightened focus on energy security globally, Kande and Lim keep their &ldquo add&rdquo call with a higher target price of $2.60, based on 1.2 times P/B which is a 20% discount to the counter&rsquo s 10-year average. At around 11.55 am on Aug 25, Seatrium' s shares are up five cents, or 2.4%, to $2.14 |
