don get hope too high too cos NOL disappoint lot of time. Keep cool and sidelined till 1Q result out of the way. Temasek would grind the directors hard if result not up to expectation since the closest comparsion hapag llord had returned to profit. |

Their pay are not high compared to rival liners but they are incompetent or plainly outdated in their business model. Currently the freight rate now are result of larger and more fuel efficient ships being deployed and streamlining of container shipping operation. This explain why market leader maersk line can double 1Q profit even though voulme drop and low freight rate costhey had deposed of non ocean assets which eat into the profit margin. Getting rid of those value added assets and go main stream ocean shipping would alway be profitable as effort is being focus on getting ship fully loaded. Big issues facing NOL is they must divest away ALL NON CORE ASSETs since open market price for those assets are high now due to QE and improving US economy. Hapag llord merge with CSAV also the same thing getting rid of non core assets and focus on ocean shipping only nothing else, if customers want value added service go open market for 3PL. Pressure would build up very fast if NOL this thurs still cannot delivered and high chance CEO would be replaced. Divesting all the port terminals plus liner trains would yield another fat profit for NOL share holders though it would be used to repay debt but NAV would get another boost. |

This is nothing, market leader maesrk linde reported US$710 mil net profit double of last year despite decline in volume and freight rate. Shit don know how those liner squeeze out money from noways lol. NOL management under heavy pressure to perform, cannot perform = head chopping session. In fact the whole NOL board directors should be replaced due to incompetence. Incompetence not accepted in state owned enterprise, only the elite that make money is welconme. |
