About Sen Yue Holdings Sen Yue started out in 1992 as a tool and die designer and manufacturer. Over the years, it has diversified into electro-deposition (ED) coating and commodities trading, focusing on non-ferrous metals, including copper and other special alloys. Subsequently, the Group expanded into waste management and recycling, a core competency that was built up by the new management who have been involved in the industry since the 1990s. The Group handles over 20,000 tonnes of discarded materials each year, counting commercial and industrial giants. Sen Yue is one of the key players in the industry and one of the primary certified establishments in the region licensed to handle general waste. The Group' s renewed products includes brass, bronze, copper, lead, nickel, tin, steel, solder, other metal alloys as well as metal oxides. In FY2018, the Group recorded growth across all segments, with a significant increase in commodities segment, which included maiden revenue generated from e-waste management business in the recycling of lithium-ion batteries. Geographically, China was the largest market at 30.6% followed by Taiwan (22.5%) and South Korea (13.6%). Going forward, the Group aims to take the lead in establishing an ideal and sustainable standard for the collection, handling, treatment and disposal of commercial and hazardous electronic and industrial waste for the region.
The Group said its other business activities are expected to remain stable and it will explore opportunities in the region. The Group expects FY2019 to be a challenging year given numerous changes introduced by the various governments on trade, environment and other factors in FY2018.

Revenue has been growing, with net profit margin on an overall uptrend, though still below 1%. 
The Balance Sheet graphical representation shows that Sen Yue' s financial position is relatively healthy. While the current ratio is more than 1 times, current assets of S$84 million reflects an increase in inventories to S$19 million in FY2018 from S$5.8 million previously mainly due to commencement of e-waste management business in FY2018. Current liabilities increased to S$71.7 million as at Dec 31, 2018. This was mainly due to an increase in bank overdrafts, loans and trade bills by S$13.5 million as more banking facilities were drawn down to finance the increase of trading volume for the commodities segment. The company' s shareholders' equity also improved to S$41.4 million in FY2018, with accumulated profit of S$522,000 compared with equity of S$38.7 million and accumulated losses of S$1.4 million in FY2017. 
While cash and cash equivalents is decreasing, net cash generated from operating activities has been on an uptrend and stood at S$12.2 million in FY2018. Conclusion The company appears to be undervalued with its last traded price of 1.4 cents below its NAV of 4.76 cents. While profitability is weak, the company' s cash flow from operations has been strengthening. The prospects of its new business in e-waste management and recycling of lithium-ion batteries are also exciting and could provide the impetus for growth and visibility among investors. |
