The 2H financial results themselves are as expected. Does not appear to be any positive margin impact from the decline in cocoa prices (unless I' m reading it wrong) in 2H I imagine this only feeds through this year. I guess the increased dividend in 2H reflects the anticipation of better things to come in the near future, but given the size of the cocoa price drop I would have expected management to have made more of the upside this represents to future profit. | ||||

That announcement meant two holding companies in the chain of ownership got cut out. The underlying shareholder has not changed. Of course this restructuring may be in preparation for a sale.

📉 Cocoa futures keep dropping (2025&ndash 2026)
1) Demand destruction &ndash chocolate makers buying less
High cocoa prices in 2024&ndash 2025 made chocolate expensive.
Consumers bought less &rarr factories processed less cocoa (&ldquo grindings&rdquo fell globally).
Lower demand = prices fall.
➡ ️ Europe grindings &minus 7.2%, Asia &minus 16% YoY in 2025
When demand slows, futures traders expect weaker consumption &rarr they sell futures &rarr price drops.
2) Supply outlook improving (weather + harvest recovery)
Earlier prices surged because crops failed in West Africa.
Now conditions improved:
Better rainfall and harvest expectations in West Africa
New production from Ecuador
Crop recovery after disease/drought
All these increase supply expectations &rarr bearish for price.

3) Market moving from deficit &rarr possible surplus
After years of shortage, analysts now see the market rebalancing:
Rising output + weaker demand &rarr potential surplus seasons
Surplus outlook pushes futures lower

After yesterday cocao price crash 6%, at this price level ,
Delfi was trading at $1.40 , the bbs know this and have been whaling in since morning ? of cos helped by the re rating of food empire make this look ridiculously cheap
