x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	anyway, im only making a passing  comment about fundamental perspective since some forummers bring this up into speculative counter.. im just triggered to comment when ppl talk about fundamentals.. no one will know how much BB will push this up or down (the technical experts here can advise on short term play), but judging from the pandemic, i think there will still be sentiment going for counters like medtec..  cos i believe it will be a matter of time likely  singapore have our 1st local transmission, since those infected chinese are walking around at busy places..

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Using NAV to gauge whether a counter is undervalue or not is not too accurate..  it cannot be use in  all sectors.. look at telecom and food/bev sector.. their NAV are often very low but it is their ability to generate  cash that matters..  and if u talk about undervalue pertaining NAV, tonnes of property related counters are trading way below NAV, and have been continuously doing so.. for NAV to be used as judging parameter, i only care about cash & property at most.. other stuff i will treat as 0 value to be safe.. cos things like machineries/depreciating items  etc, u cant sell them easily  at the price base on what is stated as NAV in balance sheet.. for instance, during the oil crisis, lots of vessels are not able to sell at the value that is stated in their NAV.. I think most people are just looking at income for 1H 2020 The company will not raise the price of course, it?s the governments and companies who wants to buy the mask raise their buying price... the company only have so much goods u need to raise ur price otherwise gonna sell to another person right ? nqing87      ( Date: 31-Jan-2020 08:44) Posted: actually when we talk about playing pennies that climb up rapidly due to sentiment, a lot of time it is not due to too much fundamentals behind but rather traders & speculators had came in.. if we look objectively, how much earnings increase are we expecting counters like medtec to go up due to this virus? medtec went up from about 5 cents to 17+ cents now, which is about more than 3 times.. so basically earnings need to go up more than 3 times to justify the rise.. so how do we have increase in earnings? there are probably 2 ways to go about it, first is to increase production, second is to raise the selling price of each unit sold.. for the first, it is unlikely they can raise too much output because the production facilities are the limiting factor.. at such a short time, u cannot raise output that easily.. for the second, can we expect them to jack up the price at sky high price? actually if u look at how things run, normally the one who benefits most are the retail shops/middlemen selling these medical related items.. the one producing it often did not jack up that much compare to the retail shops.. that is why ppl are complaining about sky high price, and there will be a curb on the price to prevent scalping.. lastly, just like SARS, this virus is likely to last few months only.. so does it justify any company to expand their production facility for such a short term demand? basically for this few mths, demand will be strong and we could expect earnings increase, but in the long run subsequently, it will be back to square one.. so my take is there is no need for any fundamentals talk.. just like everyone grabbing masks at such times, when the saga is over, the price will be back to square one.. so dont be the last to hold, and dont make investing decision  based on fundamentals, but rather on sentiment

SARS is 2003, so i dont have data to verify with u on how much profits they have at that time and after the saga..
