Closed near high.Last time px ran up due to speculation of company being approached for a possible buyout or strategic tie-up.So this time is robust 3Q2017 fin result and possible another round of dividend payout. I target between 1-1.5c dividend for the coming quarter if any.

Heard about it, but was thinking it has already ran up 3x since 6 months ago (about 50cents) I decided to give it a miss. Now I can only kick myself and suck it up. Well, we know we will never win everything or everytime. |

Manufacturing continued to expand in Sep, with the PMI hitting a new high of 52.0 (Aug: 51.8) for the 13th straight month - This came on the back of strong performance in the electronics sector, which posted its highest reading of 53.6 (+0.4ppt MoM) since Jul ' 10. - The latest data should push 3Q17 GDP growth to 3.8% and lift full year forecast above 3%. |

3Q2016 net profit $30.7M, Revenue $387,339. So expect higher profit and revenue as guided and probably another special dividend.3Q2016 given 0.4c dividend. Fingers crossed. |

In the Company&rsquo s unaudited financial results announcement for the second quarter ended 30 June 2017 made on 3 August 2017, the Company in paragraph 10 thereof, guided its performance inter alia, as follows: The Group expects similar revenue and profit for 3Q2017 as compared to 3Q2016. Based on a preliminary review of the financial information of the Group for 3Q2017, the board of directors of the Company wishes to inform as follows: The Group expects higher revenue and profit for 3Q2017 as compared to 3Q2016. The difference between our unaudited profit and the previous guidance for 3Q2017 is mainly attributable to better sales as compared to our previous guidance and continuous improvement in operational efficiency. Further details of the Group&rsquo s financial performance will be disclosed when the Company finalises and announces its unaudited financial result for 3Q2017. |

HTC has announced its stock will stop trading from Thursday, amid local media reports that the struggling smartphone maker is to be bought by Google parent Alphabet. The company told the Taiwan Stock Exchange on Wednesday that it was halting shares pending the release of material information, shortly after announcing that it would not comment on any market speculation about Alphabet&rsquo s rumoured acquisition. HTC&rsquo s smartphone sales fell by more than half in August compared to a year earlier, according to*company filings. The company&rsquo s share of the global handset market has fallen from around 9 per cent in 2011 to*a fraction*of a per cent today. Taiwanese media, such as China Times and Apple Daily, had previously abounded with reports that Google might be about to buy HTC&rsquo s research and development team or even the entire group. |
