Everyone is getting anxious about results day as their earnings will be the barometer for the next STA mkt direction. Lets hope their results will not disappoint. I am rooting for a better result release due to my business connections in the rubber industry and STA is one of my rubber suppliers. Hopefully I am not wrong!!

x 1   x 0  Alert Admin	UOB Kay Hian expects STA' s Q2 earnings to be weaker than previously projected due to the surge in raw material prices from May to June, which has pressured the rubber industry' s gross margins.  However, the brokerage says STA' s earnings for H2 are likely  to double from the first half of the year  as local raw material prices are now declining on seasonally larger market output. STA will also record "   huge earnings contributions"   from STGT, which has benefited from an increase in the average selling price of their glove. I beg to differ regards surge in raw material prices from May to June which has pressured the rubber industry gross margin ie during the Thailand wintering period. From what I know, STA rubber revenue could have been lower than 1st quarter due to delayed shipment from some local consumers like Michelin/Bridgestone/Goodyear/Apollo/MRF etc for April to June shipt to July and August shipment due to worsening virus pandemic as STA like any normal producer will sell 2 to 3 months forward to secure sales. This means STA would have made their forward sales mostly in Jan and Feb and March for April to June period which is not affected by surge in raw material prices as expounded by UOB because Jan/Mar period is peak production season. Besides into peak production period, producers will collect as much as possible of available raw material to fulfill their forward sales as not much raw material available for tapping due to wintering period between April and May. Only people in the rubber business will know better!!! This explanation of rubber industry practice is meant for all my good friends to understand the rubber industry practice much better in this forum and please take it as a sharing gesture on my part. Anyway, let STA 2nd quarters results speak for itself on 14 Aug release.

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	We are getting closer n closer to the day when we shall all see the long anticipated results for STA. Just a repost of the BT news article below, which  on that day, STA decisively reversed its down trend from its low of $1.10 to hit $1.46 before correcting to close at $1.31 last week. The point about the discounts between the value of STGT ascribed to STA is still huge.. Price of STGT has moved UP to 88.90 THB or $3.92c (likely due to projected strong results coming) STGT  is now valued $5.45B (note that 32B glove maker, Kossan market cap is about $7.5B, so there is more upside room..) Holding 56% of STGT, STA stake is worth about $3.05B.  This is translated to a whopping $1.98 per STA share.  Just compare with current STA price, trading at $1.31..    I believe like many other forumers, that  the market is currently undervaluing STA way too much..  there is too much discount on its share price compared to STGT' s share price. STA Q1 has improved tremendously over the preceding qtr and those in 2019.  During the 1st  quarter of this year STA reported a net profit of 854.15 million baht against a net loss of 627.68 million for the same period of 2019.  STGT 1st  quarter showed a net profit of 421.89 million baht against 156.6 million baht during the same period last year.  I am expecting better results from both STA and also its STGT for the next 3 qtrs due to filled orders and bigger spikes in ASPs similiar to Malaysian peers. The long anticipated results for STA should be out anytime between 12 to 14 August. Optimistic and happy to see whats the outcome. I believe the fundamentals and prospect for STA are excellent and mkt will eventually catch up.. and i must say i am seeing some light now with both STGT and STA thai moving back up closer to their recent highs..  As always, dyodd and huat.. ------ Sri Trang ' undervalued' after listing of glove subsidiary: UOB FRI, JUL 24, 2020 - 5:50 AM Business Time -  UMA DEVI STRONG interest in glove makers has boosted overall trading volumes on Bursa Malaysia to a new record, but investors looking for a glove play that still offers good value could consider Sri Trang Agro-Industry (STA). The Thailand-based rubber producer is up 144 per cent this year, following the listing of its glove maker unit Sri Trang Gloves Thailand (STGT). STA, which closed on Thursday at S$1.10, now has a market capitalisation of S$1.69 billion.  But that is dwarfed by the value of STGT, which ended the day at 80.25 baht (S$3.50) and is now valued at 111.45 billion baht (S$4.86 billion). STA owns 56 per cent of STGT. That stake at current prices is worth 62.41 billion baht or S$2.72 billion. " I think the market is currently undervaluing STA because there is too much discount on its share price compared to STGT' s share price," said UOB Kay Hian analyst Thunya Sutavepramochanon. For investors who fear the run in STGT' s share price could be a short one, Ms Thunya said there should be " no worry" as far as the second half of the year is concerned.
