Anyway let me share one more thing. From this morning all the way to 4 pm plus, I noticed that every time when a few lots are done at the higher bid price, immediately there will be just 1 lot done at the lower bid to reflect back the lower price. I am able to monitor closely today as I am on leave. I dunno if that means anything. Just sharing.. |

a Quarter in RED & No dividend. bad news... overall 1H is still profitable. Good news. but margin lower due to higher cost in Brazil yard. New yards started operation. Things should come under control. Other new yards in Romania will start operation in 3Q13. Good news Outlook is positive. Good news Cash position is healthy. Good news NTA increased. Good news Well, lets see how the BBs read it... I am ready to add more tomorrow if drop. Good value for long term investment. A good discount! If up, we join others here to cheer it up together :) 危 机 will not happen everyday. Am ready to catch it and gamble. Cheers!!!  |

Vard pushed into losses by Brazil ops in Q2

VARD Holdings' two Brazil yards dragged the group into the red in its second quarter ended June 30. Vard Holdings, formerly known as STX OSV Holdings, reported losses attributable to equity holders of the company of 20 million Norwegian kroner from a profit position of 279 million kroner in the same period last year. Net profit in the first half of the year plummeted 69 per cent to 168 million kroner from 548 million kroner. Vard said that earnings were hammered by delays and cost overruns at its yard in Niteroi in Brazil, while its new yard Vard Promar, recorded high-pre-operational expenses. |

Definitely for this quarter, it is bad and that's why a profit guidance was issued. How bad is bad will depend on one own's intepretation. Questions we can ask is whether if this loss will persist or is it just one-time? Will there be even more downside from the operations in the Brazil shipyard, etc... If considering all factors, risks, upside and downside, etc... and one feels that it is not a worthy investment, it may be good to sell. After all, investing got largely to do with one's own foresight and judgement also. Lastly, listen to only yourself and be responsible for your own call. Don't even listen to anyone here, including me, as everyone's risk appetite, capital, time horizon, etc... are different.

careful in shorting. normally price is either been short or pushed up before the news. and Brazil news also an old news just that now with full report

Definable very bad. Two important to consider:
1). Whether the mgt has any plan of recovery. How the BB read it, 2) whether the recent downturn price had taken full effect of the actual figures. If yes, then it's safe, failure which to tomorrow will be down some more. Bear in mind these 2 days went up a bit, may not be good for tomorrow. Could be shortist building up strength. Finally, take care

I think he already shorted yest at 0.83 that's why now panic and here to scare people. Sometimes, is too easy to tell who are those shortists here. In all the ship building and shipping logistics counters forums I read here, he only has negative views and comments for them and it comes as no surprise if he shorts this counter..

Stocks are considered to be relatively liquid, meaning they can easily be exchanged into cash. Adding net book value to intrinsic value would be considered a " fair" valuation. But some will not agree to sum them up. It has to depend on how one valuate that stock to be " fair" . At least that's what I learnt last time. If you have a different interpretation, can share with me also..

Eh the receivables must discount abit also. I not too sure if they can sustain it. I wonder how the pre-openings will be like tmr.. Long term still okla..but sad to see prices falling down and down
